Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA—Surabaya State University (UNESA) hosted the second National Conference (Munas) of the Executive Board of the Indonesian Petanque Sports Federation (PB FOPI) which took place on Saturday, 26 August 2023 at the Unesa Student Center, Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya.
Prof. Dr. Ramdan Pelana, M.Or., Deputy Chairman II of PB FOPI in his report, explained that this activity is held every five years. This year is the second time it has been held since 2019. The participants who attended reached 44 people who were representatives from 25 provinces throughout Indonesia.
This time's activity carries the big theme "United in Families towards Global Achievements". With that theme, the activity conveyed a strong message about the importance of uniting in the spirit of kinship to achieve achievements on the international stage. there is a new leader who becomes a new spirit and positive transformation," he explained. In the procession for selecting the new captain, the name Prof. Dr. Nurhasan M.Kes., carried by the majority of the participants who attended and was officially elected as General Chairperson of PB FOPI for the 2023-2027 period.
In his remarks, the man who is familiarly called Cak Hasan expressed his gratitude for the trust to lead PB FOPI . According to him, the federation is an important milestone in the success of the petanque sport which is considered relatively new in Indonesia.
“In the future we will have a good discussion and we must map out and take more action on how to advance the petanque sport through synergy with various stakeholders and etc. Our challenge lies ahead in advancing petanque through various synergies and strategies," he said.
