Unesa. ac.id, SURABAYA—Surabaya State University (UNESA) together with the National Counterterrorism Agency (BNPT) and the East Java Terrorism Prevention Coordination Forum (FKPT), held the Youth Of Indonesia (YoI) Festival entitled "Young Independent Working for the Country" on August 28 2024 at the Rectorate Field, Campus 2 Lidah Wetan.
This activity, which is part of a series of Student Fairs (PRM), was attended by the ranks of UNESA vice-chancellors, deans and deputy deans. Chairman of the East Java FKPT, Hesti Armiwulan said, apart from being a festival of competitions between bands throughout East Java, this activity was also a form of gratitude because UNESA won the national campus champion from BNPT.
"With the crowning of UNESA as a national campus "It is hoped that all elements in UNESA can strengthen the sense of unity, and prevent intolerance, radicalism and terrorism in the campus environment by working together," he said.

The Chair of the East Java FKPT, Hesti Armiwulan, provided reinforcement at the band festival between students throughout East Java at UNESA.
He too said that this activity is a form of positive collaboration between UNESA and the government, through this activity it is hoped that it can increase pride as an Indonesian citizen and strengthen unity in realizing a Golden Indonesia. According to him, preventing negative ideas does not have to be conventional, but can be modern through music.
"Preventing intolerance and radicalism doesn't have to be done conventionally because for Gen-Z it won't matter. "I invite Gen-Z to voice the transformation of cultural values through activities they are interested in, for example by performing national and regional songs," he said.
At the end of the session, Hesti Armiwulan conveyed his message and hopes for UNESA students and the general public. , related to the holding of this festival. “My children, the entire younger generation must have sky-high aspirations. Mastering science and technology, but must still have an identity as an Indonesian nation. "Don't be easily influenced by ideas that are not in accordance with Pancasila, be the pride of your parents, nation and country," he said.

Colonel Harianto from BNPT conveyed important messages to students regarding the dangers of ideologies that damage the integrity of Indonesian society, nation and state.
Next, Colonel (Sus) Harianto, Head of Sub-Directorate for Community Empowerment, BNPT, invited all students to prevent intolerance, radicalism and terrorism from now until the end of this country. "With love, I am sure that the negative ideas that exist in this country can be overcome. Therefore, let us embrace each other together to prevent Intolerance, Radicalism and Terrorism that exist in this country," he said.
In this band festival, all the competition participants flocked to present interesting musical performances to the audience and the jury. The songs performed ranged from national songs, regional songs, to contemporary pop songs. This festival produced 1st, 2nd place winners , and 3, as a form of appreciation for those who excel. Later, the winners of this festival are expected to continue their achievements at the national level.

UNESA leadership and directorates together with BNPT and East Java FKPT thanksgiving together for winning the UNESA award as a national campus.
The first place at the YoI festival was Up&In Band - SMAN 21 Surabaya, second place was Je Kazoku, a Sidoarjo mixed school, and third place was Twenty Three Band, SMAN 2 Sidoarjo. Hope 1st position by Yosuke, SMAK Yos Sudarso Kepanjen, Hope 2nd by Inscada Harmoni, SMAN 2 Mojokerto, and favorite band category by Up&In Band, SMAN 21 Surabaya.
Other awards were also given to players band instruments and tools: Best Keyboard by Twenty Three, SMAN 2 Sidoarjo, Best Drummer by Je Kazoku, Sidoarjo mix, Best Vocal by up & in, SMAN 21 Surabaya, and Best Guitar by Up&In, SMAN 21 Surabaya and finally Best Bass by Up&In, SMAN 21 Surabaya.[]
