Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA—The Office of International Affairs (OIA), State University of Surabaya (UNESA) is holding an International Cultural Festival (ICF) in the Rector's yard, Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya, on Saturday, September 2 2023.
The Head of OIA, Asrori, S.S., M.Pd., said that this agenda aims to bring together various cultures from all over the world in various series of activities such as cultural parades, youth community talk shows and national art performance.
In addition, there will also be language and culture booth activities, MSME booths, youth community booths, and interactive activity booths. The activity themed 'Reinforcing Youth Community for Sustainable City' was attended by representatives of consulates from various countries such as South Korea, Saudi Arabia, Yemen, India, Myanmar, Afghanistan, Uganda, Timor-Leste, Madagascar, Thailand, the Philippines to China.

Vice Chancellor for Planning, Development, Cooperation, and Technology Information and Communication, Prof. Dr. Siti Nur Azizah, S.H., M.Hum., stressed the importance of harmony in diversity, inclusive relationships, and the ability to build friendship between countries, especially in the context of the world of education.
"We hope this activity can become an event that later it can become a continuous event. So that we can learn from each other between countries in tradition, art, music and even culinary," he said.
The ICF event, he continued, is an important opportunity to invite international students so that more and more students study at UNESA. This activity can also be an effective communication medium to introduce UNESA in international eyes.
Chief Executive Mellinda Putri Berliana explained the purpose of holding the parade is to show the richness of culture in the world and foster a sense of mutual understanding. All foreign students from various countries wear their own distinctive clothes.
Japanese students, for example, wear their distinctive costumes. Likewise students from Saudi Arabia wore long white robes with a turban on their heads. The same thing was shown by students from other countries.
"Hopefully this activity will be useful and can be carried out again next year. ICF makes it an event that both UNESA residents and the general public have been waiting for. international world," he hoped. (*)
