Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—A total of 540 First Batch 2024 Pre-Service Teacher Professional Education (PPG) students took part in the Orientation Training in the Building LPSP, Lidah Wetan Campus II, Surabaya on Wednesday, January 17 2024.
Head of the PPG Center, Drs. Fatkur Rohman Kafrawi, M.Pd., said that the training was aimed at responding to the shortage of teachers in various educational units in East Java. He ensures that PPG UNESA is packaged with a system in such a way that the graduates are truly professional teachers.
He added, there are several educational competencies, so that graduates are expected to have high competitiveness, superior quality, and can be a driver of change He teaches at his local school.
"The first batch of PPG Prajab participants have a complete package because they are equipped with fitness certificates and English language skills," he said.
Furthermore, UNESA also applies certificates inclusive education because the education sector is the main and most important focus. The education sector is the basic service after the health sector and law enforcement.
Apart from that, Pre-Service PPG participants are also entitled to assistance and consultation from lecturers and tutors, as well as original teaching certificates that can be used to register for Postgraduate programs.< /p>
Dr. Martadi, M.Sn., as Director of LPSP said that Pre-Service PPG students are expected to be able to take advantage of this good opportunity to seek opportunities and explore experiences and abilities.
Through this training, the campus is committed to assisting UNESA PPG graduates to become graduates quality. "We are collaborating with tutors and education experts so that the 2024 UNESA PPG students are still able to maintain the overall PPG innovation championship achievement obtained last year," he added.
This activity was attended by resource persons, one of whom was Tri Endang Kustianingsih, a representative of the Surabaya Education Office . He delivered material on the Great Job Prospects and Opportunities for Pre-Service PPGs in the Plan for Fulfillment of State Civil Apparatus (ASN).
According to him, so far UNESA has produced teacher graduates who are competent to occupy functional ASN positions. It is recorded that this year, there are 1,070 teachers needed in education units (schools) in the Surabaya region, especially in state institutions to ensure the welfare of teachers and teachers' ongoing protection.
The government will open up this opportunity through the selection of Candidates for Civil Servants (CPNS) and Government Employees with Work Agreements (PPPK).
He added that the curriculum used in the 2024 UNESA PPG Prajab is quite strict with several placement and course learning systems, which include 32 course credits. core, 4 credits of selective courses, and 2 elective courses which will be taken over 2 semesters.
PPG Secretary, Dr. Julianto, S.Pd., M.Pd., as the speaker in this activity delivered lecture material for PPG Prajab 2024. Apart from that, material related to the Learning Management System (LMS) was also presented by Agoes Primono Sudjono and Ronggo Alit, M.M., M.T.
LMS is a website that PPG students can access to work on and collect their coursework. Dr. Harmanto, M.Pd., was present as a speaker. He explained material about National Insight and Global Diversity.
Julianto said that in PPL 2 there would be 1 cycle for guided learning and 5 cycles of independent learning. In PPL 2, students are allowed to teach without being accompanied by a tutor. Starting in the last 5 years, teachers have started to be really needed, especially in rural areas.
The PPG Prajab bill in semester 2 or the end of the PPG lecture period is to produce articles that must be published in journals. The names listed include students as main authors, supervisors, tutors, and school principals/partners (optional). In essence, 1 article has 5 to 7 authors. "Starting from semester 1, students are allowed to make articles in installments," he said.
He added, there are 3 courses that PPG students will take, namely core, selective and elective courses. Core courses must be taken, selective courses are courses that characterize the study program, and elective courses are courses that characterize the university. The university's defining subjects are wellness and inclusion.[]
