He added, currently SMCC recorded as many as 45 students at UNESA who experienced mental health problems in the mild, moderate and severe categories. Two of them are FISH students.
"Anyone who feels they need help or wants to complain can contact SMCC directly. We hope that this socialization can shape students into strong individuals who are ready to face various kinds of challenges," he hoped.
Dr. Bambang Sigit Widodo, M.Pd., Dean of FISH expressed his appreciation for the ongoing event. According to him, it is important for all students to participate in this socialization, because mental health problems can be experienced by anyone.
"Life is not easy. Everyone has experienced pressure, but it is necessary to know how we can deal with these problems. "One of the things FISH strives for is to provide the best service so that students can study comfortably without pressure," he explained.
The speaker, Dr. Wiryo Nuryono, S. Pd., M. Pd., as Head of the Anti-Narcotics and Mental Health Section, explained affirmation techniques that can be given to oneself. "A person's habit when facing problems is to remain silent and think too much about it. Even though this actually has a bad impact. What is needed is to think about positive things, such as affirmations," he explained.
Affirmations, he continued, are positive statements that are used to change negative thoughts and feelings into positive ones. Affirmative relaxation can be done using a method that combines physical relaxation with repetition of positive affirmations.
He invited students to share the problems they were experiencing, and write down how they were handled. He invited students to practice self-forgiveness techniques. "The way we reduce the burden is to accept it and hand it all over to the Creator," he said.
Rosalinda Alriza Permata, a participant who is a student of the State Administration Science study program, admitted that she was relieved after taking part in this socialization.
"I feel more sincere in facing every problem that exists. At the same time I want to give a message to friends who have mental health problems, you should immediately contact help, one of which is at UNESA, namely SMCC," he said. This activity was attended by academics, staff, lecturers, student organizations, and students from FISH.[]
