Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA—Hundreds of Communication Science and Visual Communication Design students packed the Srikandi Hall, Ketintang Campus, on Monday, September 25 2023. They took part in a creative video making workshop with travel filmmaker, Ahmad Tito.
The activity entitled 'Best Wok: Creative Campus' in collaboration with the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH) and PT Suprama (Mie Burung Dara) aims to improve the skills and quality of students majoring in Communication Science and Visual Communication Design (DKV).< /p>
Dr. Anam Miftakhul Huda, S.I.Kom., M.I.Kom., as Coordinator of the Communication Science Study Program, said that the presence of practitioners can provide practical assistance to students through practical experience as a reinforcement of what they have learned in the study program.
He hopes that students can learned a lot from the speaker's experience and could learn directly how to produce work in the form of videos that are interesting and suit the needs of the audience.
Chief Operations Officer of PT Suprama (Surya Pratista Hutama) Tjun Sulestio on that occasion said, in marketing communications, The concept of an advertising video like the one they do has at least three important points.
First, classic so that their product has universal appeal. With a classic taste that is liked by various groups, it will attract the attention of all age groups. Second, various flavor variants with appetizing descriptions. Third, online availability and healthy certification for easy access and healthy choices.
In the material session, Ahmad Tito revealed, in making product advertisements, especially in the food sector, an important point that needs to be considered is creativity in making advertising videos so that brands are interested in the services they want to offer.
Apart from that, the value offered to brands is also very important for personal branding purposes or building strong branding for a product. "There are a lot of advertising videos now. Currently, video is the dominant and popular medium. Videos are more interesting than text which tends to be boring," he said.
Today, platforms like TikTok, Instagram, and YouTube are all focused on content video based. Therefore, videos have become an important need for people for entertainment, education and various other purposes.
"When creating videos, our attention must be on the audience and a brand. This includes how we can create a video concept "which attracts the audience's attention by utilizing visual effects or creative photography and videography techniques," he explained. [*]
