Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA—The duties and responsibilities of educational units are increasingly challenging in this digital age. Therefore, there is a need for continuous strengthening as carried out by the Labschool Directorate together with UNESA's Dharma Wanita Perempuan (DWP) in the Auditorium, Rectorate, on Friday, 6 October 2023.
They held a Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with Dr . Praptono, M. Ed., as Secretary of the Directorate General, Early Childhood Education, Basic Education and Secondary Education (Directorate General of PAUD, Dikdas and Dikma).
On that occasion, he spoke about "Recovery and Transformation of Learning through Strengthening Literacy". According to him, transformation is a necessity for educational institutions, including schools.
There are several indicators that can be used to measure school transformation. First, educational services must always support student growth and development. Second, develop a culture of data-based reflection. Third, establish partnerships with student parents.
Fourth, increasing student learning outcomes in literacy, numeracy and character competencies. Fifth, create a learning environment that is safe, comfortable, fun and inclusive (accepting various forms of diversity).
In front of Labschool administrators and teachers, he advised to continue to upgrade skills through training, seminars, and can also build learning communities with colleagues to revive a healthy learning ecosystem.
“Each of these competencies must describe us as teachers. "If we look at the concept, there are four competencies that must be possessed, pedagogical, personality, social and professional," he explained.
In managing learning, he added, teachers must focus on students, always reflecting on responsibilities according to the code professional ethics, must have good communication skills, and master essential material.
In his speech, the Director of UNESA Labschool, Prof. Dr. Sujarwanto, M. Pd., said that the aim of this activity was to strengthen teaching staff towards an international standard UNESA Labschool.
There are HR regulations that will accommodate and regulate the lives of Labschool teaching staff starting from performance appraisals and teacher transfers, teacher salaries and allowances, to teachers' social media life.
This activity was attended by the Head of the Quality Assurance Center East Java Education and its staff, UNESA environmental officials, Labschool Directorate staff, UNESA DWP, Labschool administrators, teachers and staff. [*]
