The General Management (PB) and Provincial Management (Pengprov) of the Indonesian Petanque Sports Federation (FOPI) attended the 2024 National Working Meeting in Yogyakarta.
YOGYAKARTA— The Executive Board of the Indonesian Petanque Sports Federation (PB FOPI) held the 2024 National Working Meeting (Rakernas) at Yogyakarta State University (UNY) on Friday-Sunday, 10-12 May 2024. This National Working Meeting was attended by all levels of the general management, provincial administrators (pengprov) of FOPI from various regions, and the leadership of UNY.
The opening of the National Working Meeting was held at the UNY Rectorate, and discussion of the work program was held at the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences, UNY. Chairman of PB FOPI, Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., or who is familiarly called Cak Hasan in the briefing session, said that the development of the sport of petanque in society shows a good trend.
The participation of participants from various city, provincial and national level competitions shows the participation rate which is increasing. In other words, the sport of petanque is increasingly popular with people in various regions.

Professor The sports scientist and UNESA chancellor invited all levels of provincial administrators to continue to encourage and instill the spirit of the sport of petanque in society through various breakthrough programs and competitions.
With regular competitions, petanque will not only become increasingly well known to the public, but can also become a place to encourage athletes, develop athletes' performance, and even be able to attract talented talents in various regions.
Cak Hasan said that he always celebrates his birthday by holding a series or continuous petanque competition at the school and university level. With this competition, he could see firsthand the enthusiasm of young people in the sport of petanque.
"I enjoyed hearing the participants' stories, seeing their motivation and tenacity in training. I really hope that, through this National Working Meeting, apart from discussing "In preparation for the AUG (ASEAN University Games), and PON Aceh, we also set targets at the international level," he said.
UNY Chancellor, Prof. Dr ., AIFO., gave a speech and reinforcement at the opening of the 2024 PB FOPI National Working Meeting.
As master house, UNY Chancellor, Prof. Dr. Sumaryanto, M.Kes., AIFO., said that the growing sport of petanque in society must be welcomed with various competitions to nurture and increase the enthusiasm and sharpening of young Indonesian petanque athletes.
The competitions held need to be breakthroughs, both in the form of packaging and the appreciation given. This is important to do, so that the competition continues to be able to encourage and mobilize.
The Chancellor of UNY also emphasized that it is time for FOPI to look far into the future and set targets and participate in various competitions at the international level. He hopes that this National Working Meeting will produce many breakthroughs to advance and improve the achievements of the Indonesian petanque sport on the world stage.

This National Working Meeting discussed various aspects, starting from preparing a data base, upgrading and licensing for referees and arbitrators, standardizing petanque fields, preparations for the 2024 ASEAN University Games (AUG), preparations for the Aceh PON, and there is a petanque competition which is attended by participants from various regions.[]
