Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—The 6th Synesthesia International Design Exhibition organized by the Visual Communication Design (DKV) study program, Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS), Surabaya State University (UNESA) presents a 'visual experience' for three consecutive days taking part, starting from 17-19 November 2023 at the Surabaya Youth Hall.
The international level activity was opened by the Dean of FBS, Syafi'ul Anam, Ph.D. He said that Sinestasia 6 is a form of internationalization of the UNESA study program to achieve World Class University, and is a big progress because it has been able to attract foreign partners to participate in this activity.
"The number of participants, especially from abroad "Hopefully the country will increase so that it becomes proof that the DKV study program is ready to step onto the international stage," said the graduate.
The exhibition with the theme "Inside Out" displays various works. There are illustrations, videography, photography, packaging design, nirmana, and branding work. These works are not only from domestic participants, but also from several countries; Korea, China, America, Malaysia and Russia.

Overseas participants also exhibited their work at the event. One of them is a work by Alexandra Mazalova from Russia with the title "Transition". This work describes the process of change in individuals which is not easy. Visitors are invited to explore the in-depth creative expressions of the young designers involved.
"This year Synesthesia became an international exhibition for the first time. With the 'inside out' theme I want to invite visitors to get out of the zone comfortable and shows our better side or character through the works in this international exhibition," said Ralfian Angga Wijaya as Chief Executive of Synesthesia 6.
One of the attractions of this exhibition is "Sinestage," a place where FBS students amaze audiences with visual performances that combine art, music and body movements. The presence of Sinestage adds an interactive dimension to the exhibition, creating a unique synesthesia experience for visitors.
Not only that, this exhibition also offers a talk show entitled "The Art of Self Expression: Finding Your Inside Out." The event was attended by speakers such as Aprilia Muktirina, a famous illustrator. Talkshow participants are invited to explore the world of art as a form of in-depth self-expression.
On the last day of the exhibition, on November 19 to be precise, it was decorated with a lettering workshop entitled "Speak Now" led by Bagus Sudrajat. Workshop participants are invited to explore the art of calligraphy and find their unique voice through the shape and layout of letters.
The achievements achieved by UNESA DKV students in this exhibition reflect the wealth of creativity and artistic potential possessed by UNESA's young generation. This exhibition is also a forum for them to learn and share inspiration with fellow art lovers.
This agenda is proof that art is not only about visual aesthetics, but also about the journey of finding one's identity, as summarized in the theme "Inside Out." Through exploring self-expression, DKV students are able to present works that are evocative and provide deep meaning for visitors.
The Synesthesia 6 International Design Exhibition was successful in creating a space to celebrate artistic diversity and inspire the next generation to explore their creative potential . The synergy between various forms of art, inspirational talk shows and practical workshops makes this event one of the peaks of Unesa's activities. []
