
Prof. Dr. Mohd Mokhtar Tahar from UKM shared experiences and ideas for teacher development in Malaysia with UNESA Labschool leaders and teachers.
Unesa.ac .id, SURABAYA–Surabaya State University (UNESA) Labschool presents education experts from neighboring countries, Prof. Dr. Mohd Mokhtar Tahar in the Seminar: Good Practices for Teacher Development in Malaysia which took place at Labschool UNESA Campus 1 Ketintang, on Monday, 10 June 2024.
This seminar was attended by all Labschool UNESA teachers. Director of the UNESA Labschool Institute, Prof. Dr. Sujarwanto, M.Pd., opened the event entitled "Sharing Session" by emphasizing the main objective of this activity, namely strengthening ties, carrying out collaborative learning, and strengthening cooperation between UNESA Labschool and Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM).
The seminar was a very valuable and enthusiastic discussion. In the discussion session, the UKM education expert who is familiarly called Prof. Mokhtar shared in-depth insights about best practices in teacher development in Malaysia.
One of the topics discussed in this discussion was the comparison of learning systems between Malaysia and Indonesia. Prof. Mokhtar highlighted significant differences, especially in terms of teacher salary systems. In Malaysia, teacher salaries in public and private schools are the same, in contrast to the situation in Indonesia where there is a salary disparity between the two types of schools.
