UNESA Fisipol Communication Science Study Program hosted Aspikom East Java 2024. There were many things discussed in this activity, one of which was strengthening the curriculum and synergy between academics and practitioners.

SURABAYA—Bachelor of Communication Science Study Program, Surabaya State University (UNESA), hosted the East Java Region Communication Science Higher Education Association (Aspikom) conference with the theme 'Evaluation of Learning Outcome Based Education'. This event took place at Building I8 Courtroom Fisipol, Campus 1 Ketintang, on Thursday, August 8 2024.
The General Chair of Aspikom, Bekti Istiyanto, revealed that this joint meeting was to advance and develop Aspikom. "Through the revival of Aspikom East Java, it can provide inspiration and influence the Aspikom network in other regions," he said.
Chairman of Aspikom East Java, Surokim Abdus Salam, stated that this event was a highly anticipated activity on various campuses with the Communication Science study program. It is hoped that collaboration with practitioners can produce programs that are beneficial for students.
"Therefore, I hope that this collaboration can strengthen our shared curriculum and adapt it to the needs of current developments," he said.
The Dean of Fisipol, Wiwik Sri Utami, said this was a very good opportunity, considering that Aspikom is a very useful forum for joint development of study programs.
Through the implementation of the transformation curriculum which was recently implemented, According to him, the curriculum will adapt according to the latest developments and lead to the quality standards expected in the Communication Science study program.
The curriculum discussed today is also of common interest on various campuses. Through Aspikom, there is the possibility of forming a new formula for CPL (Graduate Learning Outcomes) which can later be developed in the curriculum of each study program throughout Indonesia.
"We hope that from this meeting there will be input from Mr. and Mrs. for the UNESA Communication Science Study Program, which will be part of the program development in our faculty," he said.
As host, the UNESA Communication Science Study Program in its first session was an institutional discussion which included presentation of material from the UNESA Communication Science Study Program Coordination , Anam Miftakhul Huda.
The lecturer, who holds S.Kom., M.I.Kom., explains material regarding the structure of the study program's transformative curriculum and curriculum sanctions (Curriculum Sanctioning), and is accompanied by a discussion with the participants of the Aspikom Korwil East Java .
This event also presented guest speaker Damajanti Kusuma Dewi who explained material regarding the preparation and implementation of Outcome Based Education (OBE) based assessments. In the next session, Yuli Candrasari delivered material regarding the design of CPL-based Learning Design and RPS.
In addition, this conference was attended by several lecturer representatives from various universities in East Java, including Trunojoyo Madura University, UPN Veteran East Java, Diponegoro University, Surabaya Journalist Alma Mater Communication Science College (STIKOSA AWS), Merdeka University, UIN Sunan Ampel, Bhayangkara University, Petra Christian University, as well as a number of other universities.[]
