Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Culture, Suharti delivered his speech at the opening of the AUG at GRAHA UNESA.
Unesa. AC ID. SURABAYA—A number of topics related to higher education, research and innovation, including culture, were discussed with the Indonesian and French delegates in the XIII 2024 Joint Working Group (JWG) series at Surabaya State University (UNESA) on 2-5 July 2024.
One of the things discussed was how strengthening partnerships in the education sector could accelerate the development of the two countries. For Indonesia, this partnership is to support the vision of a Golden Indonesia 2045.
"Strengthening this partnership is focused on what is needed for national development. So our priority is to realize a Golden Indonesia 2045," said Suharti, Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology (Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Culture) at the opening of JWG at GRAHA UNESA, Wednesday (3 July 2024).
He added, apart from other goals, JWG also strengthens the Independent Campus Learning (MBKM) program. The French government has opened the doors to higher education and research in the 'Fashion City' to accept Indonesian students through MBKM programs, one of which is IISMA and IISMAVO.
The French Ambassador to Indonesia conveyed the urgency of the Indonesia-France partnership.
That reinforced by the French Ambassador to Indonesia, Fabie Penone through his press statement on the sidelines of the opening of the JWG. He is very happy with this biennial activity which can expand and strengthen the cooperation network that has been well established so far.
He emphasized that the key word of the JWG is strengthening partnerships, through which universities in France can accept students from Indonesia, and French students can also study in Indonesia.
"We believe that student exchange programs are very important where students can learn and exchange experiences," he said.

UNESA Chancellor , Cak Hasan (Nurhasan) welcomed the AUG momentum which involved hundreds of delegates. He stated his commitment to continue strengthening MBKM, one of which is by expanding the international cooperation or partnership network, one of which is with France.
"We implement MBKM in its entirety, apart from participating in the central government's flagship program, we also continue to produce breakthrough independent MBKM programs which are appreciated by the Ministry of Education and Culture through various awards," explained Cak Hasan.
For Cak Hasan, MBKM is not limited to producing graduates with the competencies currently needed and who can pursue a career in the world of business and industry, but goes further to giving birth to a generation that is tough, adaptive and innovative to welcome a Golden Indonesia 20245.[]
