
UNESA together with KDEKS, BI East Java, Surabaya Health Office launched the KHAS Zone at the Ketintang Campus, Surabaya.
Unesa. ac.id SURABAYA—The 'Home of Champions' campus is aggressively improving quality in various aspects, including business aspects and culinary products around campus. This commitment was demonstrated by Surabaya State University (UNESA) with the launch of the KHAS (Halal, Safe and Healthy Culinary) Zone at the Ketintang Campus 1 Baseball Foodcourt, Thursday, August 29 2024.
In soft launching this, UNESA is collaborating with Bank Indonesia East Java Province (BI Jatim), the East Java Sharia Economic Regional Committee (KDEKS), and the Surabaya City Health Service (Dinkes). "With this launch, UNESA ensures that the culinary products on campus are guaranteed to be halal, safe, of course also healthy," said Sari Edi Cahyaningrum, professor and Head of the Research Center, LPPM UNESA.
He added that the quality of the products education and assistance has been provided in culinary areas around campus in stages until micro, small and medium enterprises or MSMEs obtain halal certification. This means that MSME products on campus have gone through a number of stages to ensure that the materials, methods and products sold are halal, safe and healthy.

UNESA with PTN-BH status really needs to guarantee food in the environment campus is halal and healthy food. This is UNESA's commitment to providing comfort in consuming food and drinks at UNESA so that it can provide positive energy in everyday life.
"In the future, we hope that the KHAS zone can be implemented throughout the campus environment," he hoped.

Handover of halal certificates to MSMEs who have gone through a number of stages of assistance and verification.
Deputy Director Bank Indonesia East Java Representative Office (KPw), Iqbal Reza Nugraha said that he would continue to support the increase in halal zones in East Java, especially in Surabaya in accordance with government regulations in increasing sharia economic development in Indonesia.

In this agenda, apart from the launch, halal and healthy certificates were also given to MSMEs in the UNESA foodcourt and witnessed Director of KDEKS, Head of UNESA Halal Center, UNESA Halal Supervision, and UNESA Management Agency, and other related officials.[]
