The types of sports being contested include athletics, swimming, futsal, badminton, sepak takraw, basketball and volleyball. Also handball, judo, pencak silat, wushu, taekwondo, karate, sport climbing, archery, petanque, tennis, chess and bridge.

This activity will take place in two different places in East Java, namely in Surabaya and Malang. Then for sports venues, they are spread across several universities such as Malang State University (UM), Brawijaya University, Muhammadiyah University of Malang, Islamic University of Malang, and KONI East Java.
Meanwhile for sports venues in the Surabaya area they are spread across Airlangga University (Unair), the University of Surabaya, the East Java Veteran Development University (UPN Jatim), the Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology (ITS), and the State University of Surabaya (UNESA).
Further in the hearing, it was stated that UNESA was a representative area Surabaya, will be the opening venue for the biggest student sports event in ASEAN.
Meanwhile, Malang State University (UM) as the representative of Malang City will be the venue at the closing of AUG. As a form of support for the ASEAN University Games, the Surabaya City Government on this occasion contributed in the form of an opening ceremony, gala dinner, transportation access, security, health, publications.

Apart from that, it also concerns the city tourism program for athletes from ASEAN countries. The Malang City Government also conveyed the same thing. In essence, the regional government and city government are ready to make the AUG 2024 event a success.
In addition, the implementation of AUG 2024 involves several elements as follows: PP Bapomi, Bapomi East Java, Surabaya State University, Airlangga University, Sepuluh Nopember Institute of Technology, University Surabaya, UPN Veteran East Java, Malang State University, Brawijaya University, Muhammadiyah University of Malang.
