UNESA is currently intensively making various breakthroughs in the world of education. One important step is opening a campus in the capital city of the archipelago (IKN). This plan has been discussed with government officials including the Archipelago Capital Authority (OIKN) on several occasions.
At the commemoration of the 60th Anniversary of UNESA at GRAHA UNESA on Wednesday, 21 August 2024, the Chancellor < a href="https://www.unesa.ac.id/">UNESA, Nurhasan explained his big plans for the future, one of which is opening two campuses, namely the sixth campus for livestock and agriculture in Pacet, Mojokerto and campus seventh in IKN.
For IKN, UNESA has prepared around 4 hectares of land for investment and managing education there. The location planned as a campus area UNESA there is around 3.5 km from the location of the 79th anniversary of the Republic of Indonesia yesterday.
“The construction will probably begin next year. "We are still discussing this and discussing it further with the relevant staff, including OIKN," said the sports science professor who is familiarly called Cak Hasan.
OIKN Deputy for Social, Cultural and Community Empowerment, Alumuddin, appreciates the steps < a href="https://www.unesa.ac.id/">UNESA which opened a campus at IKN. This step is important, because IKN's vision is to become a world city, the key word is HR (human resources) through education
He also appreciated the leadership of UNESA for having the courage to take a stand and take part in the government's big plans and strategies. for Indonesia in the future. He emphasized that IKN is open to anyone.
"This Chancellor (Cak Hasan) is extraordinarily brave in taking a stand amidst uncertainty. When people hesitated, the Chancellor immediately presented his vision and said he wanted to establish UNESA there. "Appreciation to him, hopefully this will be a collaboration that will further advance the nation and state," he said.
This breakthrough UNESA received a positive response from various parties, including one is Khofifah Indar Parawansa, Governor of East Java for the period 2019-(February) 2024. He

Moreover, he continued, UNESA is the only state university or PTN that has the opportunity to open campuses or study programs needed for the development of IKN. According to him, this is a mandate from the government to develop Indonesian human resources. especially at IKN.
