Unesa.ac.id – The Daily Chair of the UNESA Alumni Family Association (IKA), Marhaen Djumadi motivated the 110th period UNESA graduates at Graha UNESA Lidah Wetan, Thursday 11 July 2024.
S study program alumni -1 Indonesian Language and Literature Education at IKIP Surabaya revealed many things to raise the enthusiasm of the 1506 graduates.
"IKA UNESA is a forum for graduates who have a winning mentality, a tough mentality and a successful mentality," said the former Regent of Nganjuk.
He explained the challenges faced by graduates in a world that is all about technology and digital. Therefore, UNESA alumni must be able to adapt.
“UNESA graduates must be able to become successful people. "Later, some will become mayors, some will become regents, some will become governors, some will become ministers and other professions," he explained.
Marhaen reveals , there are many ways to achieve success, and it can be anything. The key is to have a tough mentality, have a winning mentality, have a brave mentality. Moreover, currently there are many conveniences in the field of technology.
“I'm afraid that this (ease of technology) will actually make students lazy. I suggest that students be taught the character of hard work. Parents must have confidence that their children will be successful. "That is a character that must be instilled," he said.
The man from Nganjuk, East Java, explained four successful characters that graduates must have. First, the mental character of a champion. Until they graduate, UNESA students must have a winning mentality, a tough mentality, not to give up easily, and not to elbow each other but collaborate with each other.
“Because of what? "If students have good winning character, success will naturally be in our hands," he said.
Secondly, confident character. Not only students must be confident in their abilities, but parents and families must be at the forefront in cultivating enthusiasm and becoming a good support system for their children's success.
Third, courageous character. Through the courage that is instilled in UNESA students, it is hoped that they will become more confident. "Not only that, they must be confident in their own potential," he explained.
Fourth, be mentally strong. If we fail, we have to get up again. Don't give up if you fail the first time, but if you fail you have to evaluate what caused the failure.
"Then improve it and after that innovate so that the steps taken can be maximized," he explained.
On that occasion, Marhaen hoped that the graduates could make IKA UNESA a way to process and contribute to institution. He also hopes that in the future IKA UNESA can play a role in opening up access to jobs for alumni.
"IKA UNESA will provide assistance so that they can later determine their own path and achieve success using their own abilities," he concluded. @zar/sir
