Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—Two students from the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences (FIKK) Surabaya State University (UNESA) also strengthened the Indonesian Women's National Football Team (Timnas) to compete for the 2024 AFF Women's Cup or 2024 ASEAN Women's Cup.
Football competition Southeast Asia women's football will take place in Laos from November 23 to December 5 2024. Two FIKK students who are defending the national team are Ellen Tria Ferlika (Undergraduate Sports Science Study Program) and Ayunda Dwi Anggraini (Undergraduate Sports Coaching Education Study Program).
The management of UNESA FC, Indra Himawan Susanto, expressed his appreciation for the achievements of his students. According to him, being able to break into the national team is an achievement that should be appreciated.
“Of course this is something to be proud of, because it can strengthen the Indonesian National Team. "Moreover, two female students from FIKK UNESA were selected to strengthen the team which is part of Group B with Cambodia and Malaysia," he said.
Indra explained that this achievement cannot be separated from the hard work of the players, both when playing at their respective clubs. -each and when training at UNESA FC Women.
The student's companion also added that at UNESA FC Women, discipline is always the main focus in every training session. This strategy is implemented to ensure the players have mental and physical strength to face the competition.
The 2024 AFF Women's Cup Tournament is a valuable experience for Ellen and Ayunda. According to Indra, their participation in one of the highest events in Southeast Asian women's football will have a big influence on the development of both of their careers.
“This event is very important because it brings Indonesia's name to the international stage. "Experiences like this really influence their development as professional athletes," said Indra.
He advised the two players to continue to give their best for the National Team. “Keep your enthusiasm and fight for Indonesia. "This is a golden opportunity to show their abilities," he said.
He also hopes that both of their careers will continue to develop and be at a high level of play so that they can continue to defend the national team in the future.
The achievements of Ellen Tria Ferlika and Ayunda Dwi Anggraini are not only a source of pride for FIKK UNESA, but also the Indonesian people in general.
