SURABAYA—Thesis research by Via Aprilia Nugraha, student of the Physics Education Undergraduate Study Program, Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA), Surabaya State University (UNESA) received appreciation from the examiners during the hybrid final session at UNESA on Monday, July 1 2024 Then.
This thesis session was chaired by Prof. Nadi Suprapto, S.Pd., M.Pd, Ph.D as chairman of the session, and Utama Alan Deta, S.Pd., M. Si, and Dra. Suliyanah, M.Sc. as an examiner.
The thesis he researched was entitled "Implementation of a problem based learning (PBL) model based on local wisdom of Kayangan Api to improve critical thinking skills of high school students".
Via Aprilia Nugraha explained that his thesis discussed application of the problem based learning model based on local wisdom of Kayangan Api in Bojonegoro.
"I focus more on how the learning model is based on local wisdom to improve students' critical thinking and response skills. "My research is relatively new and has never been done before," he said.
Kayangan api, he continued, is a place that is usually only used for tourism, but has physics concepts in it and is used in direct and indirect learning.
"My research shows that Heaven's Fire is not only a tourist attraction, but also an interesting physics lesson that can improve students' critical thinking skills," he said.
The examiners expressed their appreciation for Via's research Aprilia Nugraha because the research was unique and was used for the first time in a thesis.
She was grateful for the smooth running of her thesis. She expressed her gratitude to Suliyanah, her parents, family and friends for the support given during the process of writing her thesis. .[]
