Unesa. ac.id, SURABAYA—Achievement after international level achievement continues to be made by Muhammad Daffa Golden Boy, Master's student in Sports Education, Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences (FIKK), Surabaya State University (UNESA).
Latest achievements which was achieved by the man who is familiarly called Daffa, namely the gold and silver medals in the 2024 Moscow Wushu Stars championship at the Moscow Wushu Palace, Moscow, Russia which took place from 28 February to 5 March 2024.
The world competition was attended by around 750 athletes from various countries. Daffa is one of the East Java (Jatim) athletes who represents Indonesia through PB Wushu Indonesia.
"East Java or Indonesian athletes generally won 13 medals with details of 5 gold, 5 silver, 3 bronze. I donated 1 gold in the men's jianshu number and silver in the men's qiangshu number," said Daffa to the Unesa.ac.id. team, on Sunday, March 17 2024.
Daffa's proud achievement did not just come suddenly, but was born from months of struggle and preparation. He spent around nine months practicing until he was finally able to take part in the championship.
"The key is that I try to consistently train and regularly take part in other championships. That way I can continue to improve my abilities. Apart from that, discipline is also "It's very important," said the UNESA Sports Coaching Education Bachelor's alumnus.
For Daffa, Moscow Wushu Stars 2024 has its own difference and impression from world championships in general. Apart from the large and varied number of participants involved, the condition of the Indonesian team is also strengthened by junior athletes.
"There is a lot of meaningful experience in this championship, apart from being competitive, it also requires unity and motivating each other to make red and white proud on the world stage ," he explained.
Their teamwork and tenacity were finally able to compete with the strongest participants from China and the hosts. Their struggle bore sweet fruit with dozens of medals won.
After winning the event, Daffa had to prepare again to face the next international event, one of which was the Asean University Games (AUG) at the end of June where Indonesia was the host. .
"I hope to win a gold medal because we are the hosts," said the man whose life motto is 'the true champion is the one who can defeat himself'.
For your information, Previously, Daffa achieved many achievements at international wushu championships, some of which included 2 bronze medals at the World Wushu Championships in Fort Worth, Texas, United States, November 2023, to a gold medal at the 2023 SEA Games in Cambodia. []
