UNESA PPG Prajab students explain their programs and innovations to exhibition visitors.
Unesa. ac.id., SURABAYA—Pre-service PPG students in batch I of 2023, Surabaya State University (UNESA) exhibited the work of the Leadership Project with a total of 126 groups from 20 study programs. The exhibition with a total of 135 IPR-certified works was held in the field of the Lidah Wetan Campus 2 Rectorate, on Saturday, June 8 2024.
Head of the UNESA Teacher Professional Education Agency, Drs. Fatkur Rohman Kafrawi, M.Pd., said that this exhibition was an opportunity to show the creativity and innovation of PPG students.
"As prospective teachers, they (PPG students) must be creative and innovative, so that they can become role models for their students," he said.
The programs and innovations in the exhibition attracted the attention of visitors, one of which is 'Training on Making Paving Blocks as a Solution for Utilizing Plastic Waste in the School Environment'.
The head of the paving training program group explained that the main aim of their program was to overcome the problem of plastic waste in society.
Syahidi Iswanto , the group leader of this team, said that the large amount of plastic waste in the school environment where he serves was the reason this idea was implemented.
He said that his team made the paving molds themselves. The school, he continued, will continue the innovation they provide, because the students are very enthusiastic about taking part in protecting the environment in this way.
"Yesterday we gave all the printing equipment to the school, at SMK 3 Surabaya. "It feels good when the innovation we provide can be accepted and continued," he said.
Apart from that, there are also educational innovations and demonstrations of GFCF (Gluten Free Casein Free) processing for parents and companions of ABK (autism).< /p>

Arizal Wahyu Diono, one of the team members who initiated this idea, said that awareness of parents or companions in maintaining the nutrition of ABK, especially those with autism in Indonesia, is still very lacking.
In this outreach, apart from providing information about the dangers of gluten for body, we also provide information about what food ingredients can be used as alternatives to replace foods containing gluten.
"We also provide several food recipe references, how to process ingredients, recommendations for gluten-free products, and a little material. "It's important in the booklet," said the culinary study program student.

In addition to the two of the work above, there are other works such as processing used paper into topographic maps, processing liquid fertilizer from organic waste, processing used cooking oil into soap and candles, as well as various types of school and journalistic learning product innovations, to seminars.
The chief organizer of the exhibition, Arizkylia Yoka, said that this exhibition was like a 'farewell party' for PPG Pre-service batch I 2023. She admitted that although there were several challenges, the activities were successful.
"There was no specific theme, but some were directed to develop innovations from each study program that can support our profession in the future," he concluded.
For your information, this exhibition was also filled with art performances and was held in conjunction with the launching of the Indonesian Teachers' Gymnastics (SGI) which was initiated by BPPG UNESA.
