SURABAYA—Lamongan State Special School (SLBN) students learn to make cleaning soap from eco-enzyme liquid in the Co-Sasih project organized by a team of Special Education (PLB) students, UNESA Pre-Service Teacher Professional Education Program (PPG) Batch 1 in 2024 , at SLBN (State Special School) Lamongan, on August 12 2024.
Training on cleaning processing in collaboration with the Lamongan Regency Environmental Service (DLH) was also attended by teachers, school committees and members of the PKK group Banjarmendalan Subdistrict.
Amelia Marleni Ambu Djati as head of the training project, said that this training involved eight PLB-PPG students. The aim is to introduce students and the Banjarmendalan village community to students and the Banjarmendalan village community on how to manage organic waste independently and sustainably.
He added, eco-enzyme is a fermented liquid from organic materials such as fruits and vegetables that are processed naturally. Co-Sasih itself is an abbreviation of 'eco-enzyme cleaning soap' which has many functions such as water purifier and pesticide including multi-purpose cleaning soap.
According to him, this activity could be a strengthening that is in line with the vision of P5 (Project Strengthening the Pancasila Student Profile) and sustainable vocational activity programs. "We hope that this activity can provide new knowledge for the participants about the importance of protecting the environment and utilizing organic waste into useful products," he said.

Saiful Amin, representative of DLH Lamongan Regency, said that this training was in accordance with the government program, namely the use of organic waste management in the household environment. This training does not only focus on making cleaning soap but also aims to improve the Pancasila Student Profile Strengthening Project (P5) with the theme of a sustainable lifestyle among SLBN Lamongan students.
Apart from that, this training is also one of the programs that agents of change are looking forward to to increase awareness through the use of waste in the community, especially SLBN Lamongan residents. Through this activity, it is hoped that students can understand and apply sustainability principles and utilize environmentally friendly technology in everyday life.
Ventra El Rahma, The Head of SLBN Lamongan appreciated the implementation of this activity. According to him, this activity is very beneficial for the community in processing fruit waste into useful and practical products for everyday life.
"Apart from that, for our students, this is is a vocational program that encourages them to be more creative and productive. "Hopefully this can be a provision for them after graduating from school," he hoped. []
