Batu, 5 November 2024 – In a series of Workshop events "Transformation of Academic Services Towards Quality Education" held by Surabaya State University (Unesa) at the Hotel Onsen, Batu, Malang. Students from the Nusantara Student Dormitory (AMN) Surabaya also made impressive contributions through arts and culture performances. They performed Nusantara dance, which depicts the richness of Indonesian culture and enlivened the atmosphere of the event with a spirit of diversity.
The performance of Nusantara dance by AMN Surabaya students succeeded in attracting the attention of the workshop participants consisting of Vice Chancellor I, Deputy Chancellor II, Director , Head of Sub-Directorate, Head of Section and Staff in the fields of Education, Student Affairs and Alumni. With a variety of traditional dances from various regions in Indonesia, such as the Pendet Dance from Bali, the Saman Dance from Aceh, and the Jaipong Dance from West Java, they present performances that are full of cultural values and national identity. Each dance performed presents a stunning harmony of movements, expressions and traditional costumes.
This artistic performance is not only entertainment, but also acts as a reminder of the importance of preserving culture amidst efforts to transform academic services carried out by Unesa . With collaborations like this, Unesa seeks to present educational activities that are also inspiring, strengthen the spirit of nationalism and foster pride in the nation's cultural heritage among students.
In his remarks, the Vice Chancellor for Education, Student Affairs and Alumni, Unesa expressed his appreciation to AMN Surabaya students for their participation. “We are very grateful for the extraordinary performance of AMN Surabaya students. "This is proof that in the midst of modernization and transformation of academic services, cultural preservation is also an important part in building student character with integrity and a national outlook," he said. The Competency & General Development Manager and the Surabaya Nusantara Student Dormitory coaching team, would like to thank Surabaya State University, for providing the opportunity and platform for our children (Nritya Dance Nusantara AMN Surabaya) can introduce various cultures from North Sumatra, West Java, Central Java, Jakarta, Bali and Papua which are packaged in medley dances to the community, especially the academic community UNESA. We hope that this performance can educate, entertain and increase pride in the diversity that exists in Indonesia.
Through this activity, Unesa hopes to continue to encourage the creation of collaboration between education and culture, so that students not only develop academic skills but also have cultural awareness and strong national spirit. The performance of the Nusantara dance by AMN Surabaya students was an inspiring moment that gave a different color to this series of workshop events.
