Handover of souvenirs from the Consulate General of the Indonesian Consulate General in Johor Bahru Malaysia to the Head of LPPM UNESA
Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA—As an internationalization effort, LPPM UNESA together with LPPM LPTK (Ex IKIP) throughout Indonesia conducted International PKM in Neighboring Country. This program targets Indonesian citizens or Indonesian migrant workers (PMI) in several regions of Malaysia.
This International Collaborative PKM involves 12 LPPM LPTK throughout Indonesia who collaborate with the Consulate General of the Republic of Indonesia (KJRI) Johor Bahru Malaysia and Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM) for exploring joint research.
Director of LPPM UNESA Prof. Dr. Muhammad Turhan Yani, M.A., said that this PKM covers three fields, namely education, health, law and financial literacy.
These four fields are carried out collaboratively between LPPM LPTK throughout Indonesia. Each LPPM LPTK prepares around 3 people to be involved in the program.
"From LPPM UNESA there were three 3 people who went plus a team of members. This PKM is important to provide education to Indonesian citizens who work and have a career there about the importance education, health, law and financial literacy," he said.
The Consul General of the Indonesian Consulate General in Johor Bahru Malaysia, Sigit Suryantoro Widiyanto welcomed and appreciated the implementation of this International Collaborative PKM. He said that PMI in Malaysia needed a touch through activities like this.
"We hope that through collaborative activities like this, PMI will grow have legal literacy, financial literacy, and are aware of health, all of which lead to improving the quality of life of PMI. I hope this can continue," he said.
The Director of LPPM UNESA added, apart from implementing PKM, LPPM UNESA also collaborates. the same as Universiti Putra Malaysia (UPM). This commitment was marked by the signing of a Cooperation Agreement (PKS) between LPPM UNESA and UPM.
This collaboration, said Prof Turhan, was related to the joint research program. "This collaboration is a joint opportunity, especially for us (UNESA, ed). Moreover, if we look, UPM is a university that has a very good reputation, namely ranking 24th in Asia and 158th in the world," he explained.
This collaboration was welcomed by the leadership of the university in Selangor, Malaysia. UPM Leader, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Ahmed Razman Abdul Latiff M.Acc (NTU) M.Res (Lancaster), Ph.D (LJMU), A.M.(M) hopes that this collaboration will soon be realized to improve the quality of research in each institution.The UNESA LPPM team involved in the International Collaborative PKM and PKS in Malaysia is Prof. Dr. Muhammad Turhan Yani, MA (Director of LPPM); Dr. Oce Wiriawan, M.Kes (LPPM Secretary); and Andhega Wijaya, S.Pd., M. Or. (PKM-LPPM Head of Campus).
