This activity was attended by around 96 participants from various regions.
Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—Google Developer Group on Campus (GDGOC) Surabaya State University (UNESA) held a workshop on creating an AI-based smart website supported by Google Cloud Integration at Auditorium A10, 4th floor, UNESA Campus 1 Ketintang, on Saturday, December 21 2024.
With the title “Building Smarter Websites: AI-Powered Solutions with Google Cloud Integration,”this activity was attended by the speaker, namely Joan Santoso as Google Developer Expert (GDE) Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning with Ronald Dimas Yuwandika, senior infrastructure engineer at Ruangguru.
This activity is a continuation of the first series of workshop events previously held on December 1 entitled “Google Growth: How Community & Ecosystem Drive Career Opportunities”.
Joan Santosa delivered material “Building an assistant through RAG with Gemini for your Documents.” He explained the development of the latest version of Gemini AI, namely Gemini 2.0 Flash Thinking.
This latest version allows AI to be equipped with long-term context capabilities that have great prospects for helping prepare travel plans or compiling presentations from various sources.
Flash thinking in the latest version will be more accommodating to Gemini in explaining their thinking process rather than giving direct answers. So with this multi-model reasoning, Gemini can provide more specific answers compared to the previous version.
Joan also shared her personal experience while being involved in the rapid competition in AI development. He invited students not to make products that already existed. Strive to create products that have the latest innovations that fill gaps in other products both in terms of model and accuracy.
“Even so, the concrete step we can take as system developers is to look again at where the basics we have mastered are. Develop basic knowledge, analyze statistics, understand what model you want to develop and stick to it," said Joan.
He advised students not to be lazy about taking part in workshops and developing portfolios, apart from perfecting your CV.
Meanwhile, Ronaldo Dimas Yuwandika spoke about the implementation of AI integration on websites with the help of Google Cloud, a platform from Google that provides infrastructure, tools and services.
Google Cloud now It's not just capable of storing data, but also has artificial intelligence (AI), machine learning or machine learning (ML), and others.
This workshop facilitates practical activities demonstrated directly by professionals, in order to help create a website portfolio that is integrated with AI with the help of Google Cloud. This portfolio will help participants increase credibility and present the skills they have acquired.
Satriyo Imam Arifin Wahono as leader of GDGOC UNESA said, this activity aims to attract engagement rebranding from community previously called the Google Developer Student Club (GDSC).
"The target audience for this workshop is aimed at friends who are interested in learning about AI, the number of participants was 96 participants. "With the furthest general participants attending from Ponorogo and Malang," he explained.
He hopes that this activity will be able to facilitate participants to better understand AI integration methods with Google Cloud. Apart from that, opening networking was not only for the participants, but also the core GDG team.
Refa Setyagama Abdillah, an Information Systems student who participated shared his experiences. "With this workshop, I gained further knowledge regarding the use of Gemini AI, starting from INV integration, Python installation, continued with AI IP integration," he said.[*]
