Unesa.ac.id, JEMBER—The final match of the first round of the East Java League 3 preliminary round provided important experience for all clubs including the Kresna UNESA FC squad.
The team coached by David Agus Prianto ended the first round with match against Persid Jember at the Jember Sport Garden Stadium on Saturday, 9 November 2023.
The Kresna UNESA FC squad trailed with a narrow score of 1-2 against Persid Jember. According to David, his team appeared with higher motivation in facing Persid Jember.
Even though they already understood the opponent's strategy, lack of concentration and inability to anticipate back line play were factors that influenced the outcome of the match.
Kresna UNESA FC's match in East Java League 3 faced various dynamics in the first and second half. In the first half, the 'Home of the Champions' squad conceded its first point in the 13th minute.
David revealed that the team had read the opponent's strategy so they were able to equalize the score in the 25th minute.
”When playing against Persid "This Jember team spirit is higher than in the previous match because apart from the team understanding and knowing the character of their opponent's game, the team also realizes that like it or not we have to get points," he explained.
Even though they managed to score a goal, the score was a draw, 1 -1 in the first half, things turned controversial in the second half with the referee's decision being deemed unfair to his team.
The coach from Pasuruan explained that the team showed high enthusiasm, but controversial results accompanied the match.
He revealed that the difficulties increased when Persid Jember managed to take advantage of the excess number of players after one Kresna UNESA FC player received a red card, coupled with a penalty decision which was considered controversial.
David considered that the referee's decision, which was players from Persid Jember, did not match the events that occurred on the field.
However, the coach expressed his appreciation for the team's resistance and stated that the injured players had received appropriate treatment.
In addition Therefore, the team's cohesiveness is starting to appear, and evaluation of the team's weaknesses and deficiencies will be the focus in preparation for the second round of the preliminary round next week.
"Intensive training in Surabaya will emphasize discipline in defensive organization and finishing in zone 3 , with the hope of improving the team's performance," he explained.
David hopes that the team can take advantage of the opportunities that arise in front of the opponent's goal more effectively in the upcoming match. The first round match is a meaningful experience as material for total evaluation to achieve victory in the next round. []
