Unesa. AC ID. SURABAYA—Proposals for Surabaya State University (UNESA) lecturers who have passed the national competitive scheme at the Directorate of Research, Technology and Community Service (DRTPM) of the Ministry of Education and Culture will increase significantly in 2024. A total of 133 proposals passed under different schemes. Meanwhile, in the previous year there were 43 proposals.
In order to ensure that research and PKM run according to targets starting from implementation until the promised output bill is fulfilled, the Institute for Research and Community Service, Surabaya State University (LPPM-UNESA) held Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the heads of centers, the LPPM central secretary, and representatives of several research leaders whose proposals passed the 2024 national competition by presenting the Director of DRTPM (Prof. Dr. M. Faiz Syuaib, M.Agr ).
Director Prof Faiz appreciated UNESA's progress as PTNBH, including the significant increase in research and PKM. Apart from that, the activities organized by UNESA at the national and international levels have contributed to the progress of education in Indonesia, one of which is through the activities of the Joint Working Group (JWG Indonesia-France which is also appreciated.
The FGD at LPPM is also appreciated. To prepare for the national competition at DRTPM in 2025, FGD material or materials after the activity was completed were shared with UNESA lecturers as references and materials for preparing research proposals and PKM in 2025.
Furthermore, the Head of UNESA LPPM, Prof. Dr. Muhammad Turhan Yani, M.A., CIRR said that after presenting the Director of DRTPM, he would continue inviting national reviewers to conduct a series of workshops on preparing research and PKM proposals as well as mentoring for 4 months starting in August-November 2024 with ready-made proposals as the previous year (2023).
This effort will optimistically produce the best proposals so that they have the opportunity to be accepted into the national competition at DRTPM in 2025.
Furthermore, Prof. Turhan also conveyed sources of research funding from other external parties Apart from DRTPM, it is also very open and provides opportunities for lecturers to prepare proposals, including funding sourced from the National Research and Innovation Agency (BRIN), Grand Palm Research (GRS), Ministry of Youth and Sports, Ministry of PMK, BAZNAS, and so on.[]
