
FBS UNESA leadership together with the All Nippon Airways (ANA) Narita Airport Service delegation held a cooperation meeting on student internship programs.
Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—Students of the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) Surabaya State University (UNESA) have wider opportunities to carry out international internships at the airport, Japan. This internship was discussed by the FBS leadership and the All Nippon Airways (ANA) Narita Airport Service delegation in a meeting at Building T14 Campus II Lidah Wetan, on Monday, 02 September 2024.
FBS Dean Syafi'ul Anam, said that The partnership built between the two parties has a huge impact and value for students and the faculty academic system.
He believes, through this collaboration, FBS students who were sent to carry out internship activities at the busiest airport in Japan, will get various benefits and experience of working directly in a professional environment.
"Through collaboration with Narita Airport Service, we are confident that the students sent will be able to develop practical skills and apply a global mindset," he said.
This collaboration, added the man who is also a lecturer in English Education, is an important milestone in improving educational relations between Indonesia and Japan. He hopes that this collaboration will be the start of a long-term strategic relationship.

The FBS Dean conveyed several plans and benefits of this collaboration for both parties.
“We prepare final semester students , around semester 6 or 7 who already have good Japanese language certification and meet the criteria to take part in this internship. "So once they pass the selection, we convert the internship to the equivalent of 40 credits," said Syafi'ul Anam.
Kikka Katsumi, Deputy General Manager of Narita Airport - Executive Vice President of ANA Narita Airport Services Co., Ltd, convey the latest conditions regarding the world aviation industry, especially Japan.
“We have two large airports in the Tokyo area, namely Haneda and Narita. Haneda mostly serves Japanese domestic flights. Meanwhile, Narita serves more international flights, especially for transit. "That's why our airport has been named the busiest in the world," he said.
Therefore, he added, through this collaboration we are looking for candidates and colleagues who are willing to work together and are willing to stay in Japan for a longer period of time. long.
Position and Conditions
Meanwhile, Human Resources Narita Airport Services, Takasu Reynaldo, explained more about cooperation. He explained at a glance several positions needed at Narita Airport Service such as cargo logistics, IT team, air transportation, airport ground support< /em>, aircraft maintenance, sales and marketing, contact center, and flight catering.
"Interns will be placed in four sectors such as passenger services, ground handling, operations management, and engineering em>," he explained.

This internship program is planned to start from December 2024 to November 2025, with lots of benefits for students.
Student interns in the ground handling will be divided into five tasks, namely (1) chock-man who ensures the aircraft remains safe by installing bearings on the wheels; (2) wing watch-man who monitors the area around the aircraft's wings to prevent interference;
Furthermore, (3) bulk which manages large cargo safely and according to weight distribution; (4) towing tractor which pulls or pushes aircraft at the airport; and (5) belt loader which moves baggage through conveyors safely.
Meanwhile, in the passenger services sector there will be three tasks based on information from Edith Meilani, Assistant Manager of ANA Jakarta Airport. They will serve as (1) guides in the gate area to provide information and arrange boarding, (2) assist passengers upon arrival to provide guidance to baggage claim and immigration, and (3) assist with the check-in process to organize passenger documents and baggage.
For additional information, the implementation period for this internship program starts from December 2024 to November 2025. Students who have completed their internship will be withdrawn as permanent employees after they complete their thesis.
Stipends provided Internship students get in addition to sufficient salary, namely comfortable and clean dormitory facilities. However, when student interns turn into permanent employees, there will be additional benefits such as domestic flight allowances 40 times a year at low prices.
Not only that, permanent employees at this airport can also take international flights without limits which applies to married couples, parents and their children.[]
