Director of Information and Communication Technology, and UNESA Cooperation, Prof. Slamet Setiawan, M.A., Ph.D., explained that cooperation between the two parties had been carried out previously. This opportunity is more about discussing follow-up plans.
Added by Prof. Slamet - his nickname - this collaboration is related to the development of young talents in the field of information and digital technology. According to him, students must now be equipped with information and digital technology skills as important capital to navigate the technological era.
"Currently we are facing the era of digitalization, as one of the pillars of the nation's future. Students are technologically literate and have competencies that cannot be "only based on subjects, but also additional competencies such as IT," he explained.
Whatever the job is now, he continued, it is always related to IT, students will be equipped with ICT skills through the Huawei ICT Academy. "What's interesting is that this training is free and has a competency certificate, anyone who has that competency has extraordinary opportunities," he said.
This activity was also attended by study program coordinators in each faculty. The aim is for competent lecturers to conduct training and form classes for students to study ICT intensively. The hope is that this activity will run massively and target students in each study program.

Ir. Rayi Pradono Iswara, M.Sc, Huawei ICT Talent Ecosystem Development Manager, explained that Huawei ICT Academy is an educational program organized by the technology company Huawei to provide training, certification and knowledge of information and communication technology (ICT) to students.
"The general public knows Huawei as a technological device such as gadgets, laptops, earphones. However, Huawei also has an ICT Academy which has a structured, systematic learning and training system that can be used by the academic community," he explained.
Huawei ICT Academy is focused on improving student competency at various universities in Indonesia, one of which is UNESA. For him, the demands of change require students to have strong IT competencies in accordance with industrial world standards.
Huawei ICT Academy also has an "IT for Non-IT" program created specifically for study programs at the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences who wish to study IT .
Steven Setiawan, ICT Talent Ecosystem Development Huawei continued, the programs at Huawei ICT Academy, one of which is the Huawei Talent Pool Platform, which gives students the opportunity to get a course certificate which can later be used in the world of work , business and industry.
Apart from that, Huawei ICT Academy has competitions for students, both at university, national, regional and international levels. In addition, this activity was attended by the Head of Sub-Directorate for Domestic Cooperation, Head of Sub-Directorate for Digital Learning, Head of Artificial Intelligence and Technology Head, Head of Achievement and Special Pathways for Students as well as D-4, S-1, S-2 and S-3 study program coordinators within UNESA.
