Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—Surabaya State University (Unesa) opened international classes (International Undergraduate Program/IUP) in 15 study programs for new student admissions this year. International classes are being finalized based on internal and external criteria so that they are ready to accept new students on the Independent pathway in 2025.
The study programs that are opening international classes, namely. 1) Undergraduate Study Program in Education Management, 2) Undergraduate Study Program in Elementary School Teacher Education, 3) Undergraduate Study Program in Accounting, 4) Undergraduate Study Program in Management, 5) Undergraduate Study Program in Mathematics Education, 6) Undergraduate Study Program in Mathematics 1 Biology, 7) Undergraduate Psychology Study Program, 8) Undergraduate Public Administration Study Program, 9) Undergraduate Law Study Program.
Next, 10) Undergraduate Study Program in Mandarin Language Education, 11) Undergraduate Study Program in English Literature, 12) Undergraduate Study Program in Physical Education, Recreation and Health, 13) Undergraduate Study Program in Sports Coaching Education , 14) D-4 Public Administration Study Program, 15) Bachelor's Degree Study Program in Electrical Engineering.
Director of Educational Transformation and Learning Technology (TPTP), Fida Rachmadiarti said that, as the name suggests, international classes are different from regular classes. The students not only come from within the country, but also students from other countries who collaborate with Unesa.
Of course, the system the lectures are in English. "Especially for the Chinese Language Education Study Program, the language of instruction used is Mandarin," said the professor Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) That.
The aim is to improve students' English/foreign language skills which will be useful at the global level. This class is equipped with a curriculum specifically designed based on current and future trends, challenges and needs of the world of work, business and industry at home and abroad.
He added that there are several benefits for international class students Unesa. First, there are many opportunities and even priority to take part in international programs, starting from student exchange programs through UGMA (Unesa Global Mobility Award), summer course, research fellowship em>, etc.
Second, global experience, studying with international students provides a broader perspective and multicultural experience. Third, quality of education. In international classes, lecture material is usually more based on international standards, with more interactive teaching and using the latest methods.
Fourth, international networks. Students can build connections with friends from various countries, which can be useful for international career opportunities and development.
Fifth, there is language skills training. Apart from English, interaction with international students can improve other language skills, and other necessary skills such as foreign language communication, critical thinking, working together in teams, and adapting.
The spirit of Unesa to open international classes is to provide access to quality education with international standards.
