Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA—Chancellor of Surabaya State University (UNESA) Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., is trusted to lead the Indonesian Chancellors Forum (FRI) for the 2023-2024 period. This was based on a joint decision by leaders of universities throughout Indonesia at the XXIX Campus Convention and the XXV FRI Annual Meeting at Graha UNESA, Campus II Lidah Wetan, Tuesday (16/1/2024).
The Chancellor who is familiarly called Cak Hasan Inaugurated Chairman of the FRI 2024 Advisory Council witnessed by all levels of chancellors and invited guests. Next, Cak Hasan handed over his position from the Chair of FRI for the 2022–2023 period, Prof. Dr. Mohammad Nasih SE., MT., Ak.
In his inauguration speech, Cak Hasan conveyed FRI's position in encouraging the nation's progress and competitiveness so far. The previous FRI management has achieved many things, therefore he is committed to continuing programs that are already running well and continuing to innovate in the future.
The sports professor wants FRI to become a big house that houses all state universities and private sector in Indonesia and making FRI the main locomotive for preparing strong human resources and strengthening innovation towards a competitive nation.
For Cak Hasan, in strengthening FRI's role in the future, at least 3K or commitment, cooperation and care are needed. These three things are the main points in ensuring the sustainability, progress and competitiveness of FRI.
"In the future we are faced with challenging global dynamics. Therefore, according to President Joko Widodo's direction we need to strengthen synergy through this forum to "preparing superior human resources and talents to navigate increasingly uncertain global competition," he said.
He hopes that in the future FRI can continue to strengthen its contribution and always be present to provide solutions to various challenges and problems in realizing a developed Indonesia in 2045 .
As the target of the previous FRI chairman (Prof Nasih), at least by 2034 Indonesia's human resources will be ready to maximize its demographic bonus. So that Indonesia becomes a country with competitiveness that is increasingly taken into account in the world.
FRI must be a catalyst, facilitator and mediator for its members to move forward together for Indonesia. "We must move forward together for Indonesia. Synergy and mutual support need to be strengthened. Research and innovation need to be increased. I hope this cooperation is strengthened," stressed Cak Hasan. []
