Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—For the fourth time, the Faculty of Social and Political Sciences together with the Faculty of Law held the 2024 International Conference Social Sciences and Law (ICSSL), Saturday (10/8). This activity is an annual meeting agenda for researchers and scientists from the fields of education, social political science and legal science. This year ICSSL has the theme "Empowering the Role of Higher Education to Support the Achievements of SDGs."
ICSSL 2024 presents four key speakers from various foreign universities, namely Prof. Intermediate. Dr. Azlan bin Abas (Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia), Narelle Warren, Ph.D (Monash University), Ravinesh Rohit Prasad, PhD (Fiji National University), and Dr. Yoo Bin Kim (Korea Labor Institute). The four of them discussed four perspectives on developing SDGs studies in terms of environmental management, employment and social science studies.
Dr. Bambang Sigit Widodo, M.Pd. The Deputy Chancellor for Research, Innovation, Rankings, Publications and the Science Center, in his speech on behalf of the Chancellor, expressed his joy at holding various international conferences at Unesa, including ICSSL.

Agreeing with the hopes of Vice Chancellor 3, Dr. Wiwik Sri Utami, M.P., Dean of Fisipol, in an interview after the event also hoped that the activities carried out could be a spur for efforts to realize shared goals. According to him, universities have a strategic position, not only as centers of learning and research, but also incubators of innovation, critical thinking and societal transformation.
“Our goal is to explore how higher education can be leveraged to advance the SDGs through research, teaching, community engagement, and policy advocacy. "Earlier, there was a sharing of best practices, innovative approaches, and the latest research that shows how higher education institutions can take the lead in encouraging sustainable development," he explained.
This scientific forum is a forum for discussion for 177 scientific articles from 24 higher education institutions in Asia, Europe, America and Africa. The conference which was held online was attended by 550 participants. [*]
