Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA–The Nature Lovers Student Association (Himapala) of Surabaya State University (UNESA) commemorates its 46th anniversary in this year by holding blood donation activities. This activity was held on Saturday, January 27 2024 at Building T-14 Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS), Lidah Wetan Campus II.
Muhammad Dhafa Jawadil Ubaid, Chair of Himapala UNESA said, this activity is a humanitarian program carried out every year to celebrate the birth of Himapala.
According to him, holding this activity which was attended by dozens of participants gave a message to a wide audience that Himapala not only cares about the environment, but also humanity.
"Usually people always think that Himapala only climbs mountains, only cares about forests, but we also move in the social realm, one of which is through blood donation," he said.
Dhafa hopes that this activity can encourage the surrounding community, especially the UNESA academic community, to contribute to humanity.
Apart from that, it can also be an example for other student organizations as a way to to care for others. "This activity is part of our way of fostering empathy in responding to needs in the field," said Dhafa.
Prof. Dra. Pratiwi Retnaningdyah, M.Hum., M.A., Ph.D., supervisor of Himapala UNESA, said that organization-based activities such as those held by Himapala could be a place to increase experience and strengthen students' soft skills. , Himapala is planning an assisted village program in villages in accordance with the recommendations of the Ministry of Villages, Development of Disadvantaged Regions and Transmigration (Kemendes PDTT).
This activity will emphasize four advantages, namely creative economy, tourist villages, environmentally caring villages , and English village. For your information, Himapala also climbed Mount Lawu as a series of activities to commemorate its 46th anniversary.[]
