Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA--Surabaya State University (UNESA) continues to be committed to realizing inclusive education. Most recently, through the Community Service Team (PKM) of the Faculty of Education (FIP), UNESA held training to develop teacher competency in implementing individual education programs at the UNESA Labschool Elementary School.
This was proven by the successful implementation of the Individual Education Program training (PPI) which is followed by teachers. This training aims to improve the quality of learning for students with special needs according to their needs.
Teachers are trained to design and implement effective individual education programs. With various innovative learning strategies and techniques, it is hoped that each student can learn according to their own style and speed.
"This training not only presents theory, but also provides opportunities for teachers to practice directly, so they are ready to apply the knowledge gained in the classroom," said Sujarwanto, head of community service or PKM.
He emphasized the importance of this training in responding to the increasing number of students with special needs in schools. He hopes that this activity can become a model for other schools in realizing inclusive education.
"With new knowledge and skills, teachers are expected to be able to provide better and more personalized educational services for each student, especially those who have special needs," he said.
Through this training, UNESA is committed to improving the quality of inclusive education and ensuring that every student has the same opportunity to learn and develop.
This training is expected can significantly improve the quality of learning at UNESA Labschool Elementary School. By adopting various innovative learning strategies, it is hoped that all students can learn optimally in an inclusive and comfortable environment.
