Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—As an effort to strengthen public information services, Surabaya State University (UNESA) held an online Focus Group Discussion (FGD) with the theme "Strategy to Improve the Quality of Public Information Services at UNESA" on Wednesday, August 30 2023.
Siti Ajijah, S.H. M.H., expert staff of the Indonesian Central Information Commission (KIP) was present as a speaker. He said, public information disclosure is based on the right of every individual to obtain information in a public institution.
Public information disclosure provides a strong basis for ensuring that everyone has equal access to relevant and useful information.< /p>
Public information does not only include information originating or created by UNESA, but also involving information intended for or even originating from other parties and received by UNESA.
In general, there are several categories of information that must be understood, namely periodic information, immediate information, information at any time and excluded. "What is excluded cannot be shown to the public, because the level of consequences has been tested," he said. The institution's website, he continued, is the face of the institution in the digital realm. >
“It is important to remember, when presenting public information, information exceptions must also be regulated in compliance with applicable laws. This is not only related to legal obligations, but also respects the principle of decency and the public interest," he emphasized. many others are listed in Article 17 of the Public Information Disclosure Law.
Regarding the consequence test, there are three kinds of tests that can be carried out; active, passive, and at the behest of the assembly. Then there are four important conditions that need to be considered; include complete information, include the relevant legal basis, explain the consequences that may occur, and set the applicable timeframe.
