SURABAYA—A total of 482 innovative products from PG-PAUD Undergraduate Study Program students, Faculty of Education (FIP), Surabaya State University (Unesa) displayed at the Archipelago Literacy Exploration Festival which took place at the FIP Hall, Unesa Lidah Wetan Campus 2, on Tuesday, January 7 2025.
This innovation consists of 241 educational game tools or APE and 241 e-book archipelago fairy tales. All of them are the work of students S-1 PG-PAUD Study Program class of 2023, and outputs of the Early Childhood Language and Literacy Development (AUD) course ).
This festival displays products designed to support the development of early childhood literacy, covering various aspects such as listening, speaking, writing and reading.
Lecturer who teaches courses, Afifah Rahmaningrum, explained that this festival has an important mission to train students to create learning media that is innovative and relevant to needs and problems in the field.

According to her, one of the challenges students face is when they have to explore real problems in society and create solutions through innovative learning media.
“This course is project-based so that it produces real products that are beneficial to society. "We hope that these works can become increasingly well known and become an inspiration within the FIP environment and outside campus," he hoped.

The media is designed to help children -children are more enthusiastic about learning to write through a creative and interactive approach. In its use, children are invited to write while observing the image elements placed at stopping points on the media board.
“Children often feel bored when asked to write, finally they have the idea to create this media. "Initially I used thick paper, but the results were less effective, so in the end I used a stronger plywood board which allows picture elements to be attached easily," he explained.
Auliya hopes that this innovation can help children be more enthusiastic in learn to write and encourage them to continue to hone their literacy skills as preparation for the future.[*]
