Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—On the first day of active college, new students of the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences (FIKK) immediately received advice and motivation from two coaches of the English league club, Tranmere Rovers FC; Dan O'Donnell and Matt Hunter at Gor International Futsal, Lidah Wetan Campus, Monday, August 28 2023.
The activity in the form of a public lecture is entitled "Age Specific Coaching and the England DNA". Dean of FIKK, Dr. Dwi Cahyo Kartiko, S.Pd., M.Kes., that this activity is a place for students to gain sports knowledge and insight directly from football experts.
“FIKK students are not only athletes, but can become competent coach. By bringing in coaches directly from England, it is hoped that students will get motivation and knowledge about the world of sports, especially football," he said. feel happy to be able to share and discuss with the new students.
He said, the collaboration between UNESA and Tranmere Rovers had been established for a long time. In fact, he continued, about 18 years ago, there was one FIKK student who trained at Tranmere for match preparation.
Since then, potential players from FIKK have arrived. He hopes FIKK new students can visit and train at Tranmere. "Competition between clubs in the UK is very competitive. The location of the adjacent club is the reason. This is an atmosphere that creates athlete seeds," he said.

Matt Hunter, Academy Manager, Tranmere Rovers explained that there are 4 important components in training at Tranmere; technical, physical, psychological and social. "Football players not only playing physically, but also controlling emotions in order to play optimally," he said.
There are differences regarding the training of these 4 aspects for young and old players. Being a professional trainer must be able to understand the abilities of athletes. It is important for coaches to know the strengths and weaknesses of their athletes, so that coaches can provide the right portion for athletes.
Being a professional trainer, one must be able to adhere to the principles have learned and continue to learn anywhere and anytime. "Everything is also based on loving the work and the process being carried out. Trainers can be comfortable and enjoy work so that a professional attitude will be formed," said Matt Hunter.
