
The UNESA Fisipol Leader explained various vulnerable group friendly service innovations to the visiting team from the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform and the Ministry of Education and Culture.
Unesa. ac.id, SURABAYA—The Ministry of State Apparatus Empowerment and Bureaucratic Reform (KemenPANRB) together with the Organization and Administration Bureau (Ortala) of the Ministry of Education and Culture carried out field verification regarding the Development of Vulnerable Group Friendly Public Services in 2024 at Surabaya State University (UNESA), on Monday, 17 September 2024.
The event which took place in Building I8, Faculty of Social and Political Sciences (Fisipol) UNESA, was attended by representatives of the Ministry of Administrative and Bureaucratic Reform, namely Mulyanah as a human resources analyst for middle civil servants and Nanang Khoiruddin, the first expert policy analyst. From the Ministry of Education and Culture, there were Zulfahmi, technical policy reviewer, and M. Armansyah, organizational analyst. Apart from that, Gina from the Ortala Bureau was also present as a technical policy reviewer.
From UNESA internal parties, also present were the Deputy Chancellor II for Law, Management, Finance, Resources and Business, Bachtiar Syaiful Bachri; Dean of Fisipol, Wiwik Sri Utami, and Deputy Dean of Fisipol, Harmanto, as well as several other related staff.
In her speech, Mulyanah explained that the main purpose of this verification was to discuss further and see directly the supporting evidence that had been submitted. He emphasized the importance of reviewing the follow-up action plans that have been prepared so that the recommendations given are more precise. "We hope that UNESA can become a role model for inclusive education and public services for other institutions," he said.

The Deputy Chancellor for Division II UNESA conveyed the commitment of the 'Home of Champions' campus to continue improve the quality of services for vulnerable groups, not only in Fisipol, but also in other faculties.
Vice Chancellor II, Bachtiar Syaiful Bachri, emphasized UNESA's commitment to improving public services for vulnerable and disabled groups. "We continue to improve following the dynamics in the field. "Through this activity, we hope to obtain input to develop a digitalization system for public services, especially for vulnerable groups," he said.
Fisipol has taken significant steps to ensure comfort and accessibility for vulnerable groups, including those with disabilities. Some of the existing facilities include guide roads, special parking areas for people with disabilities, and priority signs in classrooms.
In addition, the Integrated Service Unit (ULT) has been equipped with priority seating for vulnerable groups and special queues. Future development plans also include completing guiding blocks in building corridors, building ramps, disabled toilets in other buildings, as well as providing lactation rooms, quiet rooms and children's play areas. By 2025, all Fisipol buildings are targeted to have ramps to improve accessibility. "We are committed to continuing to improve facilities that are friendly for all to ensure that the entire academic community, including those with physical limitations, feel comfortable and well facilitated," explained Wiwik Sri Utami.
In terms of technology, Fisipol has developed SIDILAN, an application that supports friendly services for vulnerable groups. In addition, various devices such as keyboards braille, hearing aids, screen magnification applications such as Magnifier plus, as well as other supporting applications such as NVDA and Hearme have been implemented to support communication for vulnerable groups.
"We also continue to conduct training to improve the competence of our human resources "better prepared to serve vulnerable groups well," added Wiwik Sri Utami.
With these various initiatives, Fisipol UNESA is determined to be a pioneer in inclusive public services, utilizing technology and infrastructure that is friendly to vulnerable groups to support teaching and learning activities inclusive and sustainable.[]
