The team of presenters delivered material in front of students in a Deep Talk at the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) Campus 2 Lidah Wetan.
Unesa. ac.id, SURABAYA—Deep Talk initiated by the Directorate for Prevention and Management of Strategic Issues (PPIS) was held at the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) Surabaya State University (UNESA) from 29 February to 8 March 2024.
Activities which was held at Auditorium T2 and T14 FBS, Campus 2 Lidah Wetan, Surabaya targeted all study programs on a rotating schedule, one study program a day. The first activity started with the Bachelor's program in Indonesian Language and Literature Education and ended with the Bachelor's program in German Literature.
Deep Talk with FBS was attended by 14 study programs with the theme "Establishing Healthy Relationships". In it there are discussion and outreach sessions regarding mental health, issues of sexual violence, and how to build good relationships, especially in the digital world.
Head of the Sub-Directorate for Prevention and Handling of Sexual Violence, Iman Pasu Marganda Purba, S.H., M.H., said that this activity aims to provide awareness to students regarding building healthy relationships.
“Currently we encounter many cases that start from unhealthy relationships built through the digital world. "For example, revenge porn, namely the distribution of pornographic content in the form of photos or videos belonging to someone without permission," he said.
Sexual violence, he continued, usually also often occurs because of toxic relationships. . "We hope that UNESA students can avoid toxic relationships and understand how to build healthy relationships. "So that students can grow and develop themselves to the maximum," he hoped.
The UNESA PPIS Task Force Team, Rojil Nugroho Bayu Aji, S.Hum., M.A., also delivered material regarding mental health and the issue of sexual violence in educational institutions .
“Universities as educational institutions should be able to create a safe and comfortable learning environment for the entire community. "In this case, PPIS has a big responsibility to make this happen," he explained.
According to him, currently the issue of sexual violence and mental health has become a concern for many universities. So this problem must be prevented immediately so that it doesn't cause cases.
"It is possible that cases like this could arise due to unhealthy relationships that exist outside the campus. "Therefore, it is important that students understand how to build healthy relationships to avoid these problems," he continued.
Iman said that the Deep Talk roadshow will continue gradually until it reaches all study programs at UNESA. It is hoped that a more study-focused approach can increase students' understanding of related materials.
This activity, which was accompanied by counseling, self-healing plus e-certificate service facilities, was also attended by the UNESA PPIS task force team, Aghus Sifaq, S.Or., M.Pd., Fitrania Maghfiroh, M.Psi., Psychologist., as well as UNESA FBS environmental study program students.[]
