Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA—In the context of accelerating academic performance and services, the Academic Directorate, Surabaya State University (UNESA) held benchmarking and sharing with the Education Directorate, Indonesian Education University (UPI), Bandung, on Thursday, 19 October 2023.
Taking part in the visit was the Vice Chancellor for Academic, Student and Alumni Affairs, Prof. Dr. Madlazim, M.Sc., provided reinforcement for benchmarking and PT collaboration between UNESA and UPI. According to him, this is important to do to share and strengthen institutional governance, especially since UNESA has become a PTN-BH which must strengthen in various aspects.
"UPI is our oldest brother. This collaboration is very important to increase acceleration "work performance and services, especially in learning or curriculum, MBKM programs, academic services, and related to new student admissions," said the FMIPA professor.
Meanwhile, from UPI, PIC IISMA explained about international programs at UPI which include independent international programs and MBKM International Student Exchange or IISMA. The selection and coaching process for IISMA 2024 preparation includes the IISMA info-session series, English language registration, English language training and the English language test process.
UNESA Academic Director Prof. Dr. Fida Rachmadiarti, M.Pd, said that this benchmarking and sharing was also discussed in collaboration between both parties in the fields of learning, MBKM, academic services and new student admissions.

Prof Fida added that there were several important aspects that were obtained and discussed on that occasion. First, UPI has a team of MBKM drivers from university, faculty and study program levels as well as special operators for implementing MKBM such as registration, course conversion, and so on.
Secondly, core courses related to the profile of each study program are given in semesters 1-5 (104 credits). Third, each study program prepares courses to be converted into eight according to what already exists at UNESA, there are 8 MKBM activities as per the Ministry of Education and Culture-Research and Technology policy, especially elective courses.
Fourth, each study program has collaborated with several other campuses to join lecturers with other similar study programs, many students have even taken several courses abroad, and so on.
" "The follow-up to this external benchmarking is agreeing on cooperation with similar study programs in the implementation of MBKM, especially the Independent Student Exchange. The implementation of MKBM and other cooperation is reciprocal and mutually beneficial for the progress of each campus," he said.
From the PUI Education Directorate, this meeting was attended by the Head of the Teacher Professional Education and Professional Services Division from the Education Directorate, Dr. Asep Suryana, M.Pd; Dr. Ahmad Yani, M.Si as Head of Curriculum Development Division; Yedi Rudiawan, S.Sos from the Education Services Division.
Apart from that, there was also Agus Sutiawan, SE as the General Administration and Resources Section and attended by the PIC of the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards (IISMA); PIC Internship and Certified Independent Study (MSIB), and PIC Independent Student Exchange (PMM).
The UNESA Academic Directorate team consists of the Head of the Learning Subdirectorate, Dr. Muji Sri Prastiwi, M.Pd; Head of MBKM Subdirectorate, Dr. M. Jacky, M. Sos; Head of Admissions Subdirectorate, Dr. Sukarmin, M.Si.
