Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—Integrated Building for Sports Psychology and The Joint Lecture Building for Sports and Health SBSN State University of Surabaya (UNESA) Campus 2 Lidah Wetan was inaugurated by the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education and Culture and UNESA Chancellor on Tuesday, July 2 2024.
UNESA Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., said that the two buildings were completed faster than previously estimated. The Integrated Sports Psychology Building was completed in 1 year and 3 months, from July 2022 to early October 2023.
The construction of these two buildings shows UNESA's commitment to providing the best facilities for students and lecturers to support the teaching and learning process and research in the field of sports psychology.
Furthermore, the Joint Lecture Building for Sports and Health will be completed over 6 months from July to December 2023. This joint lecture building is designed to be a center for academic and research activities in the fields of sports and health as well as providing space which is comfortable and modern for lecture and research activities for students and lecturers.
The UNESA Sports Psychology Integrated Building has started to be used for the Faculty of Psychology and Postgraduate School since January 2024. Meanwhile, the joint sports and health lecture building is ready to be used in new academic year 2024/2025 by the Faculty of Sports and Health Sciences.
"We hope that the existence of these buildings will have a significant positive impact in supporting academic and research activities at UNESA," he said.
Dean of the Faculty of Psychology, Dr. Diana Rahmasari, S.Psi., M.Sc., expressed her gratitude and pleasure regarding the completion of the construction of the two buildings. He added, in 2024 there will be a lot of students who are interested in psychology majors.
Psychology is ranked second as the study program with the most interest at UNESA. There are a total of 7 floors in the Psychology Building, the 4th, 5th and 6th floors are mostly laboratory rooms. Meanwhile, on the 3rd floor there are rooms for the leadership and their staff.
"On floors 4, 5 and 6, 60% are used more for lab space, such as sports labs, meditation labs, learning labs and diagnostic labs. "Our lab is collaborating with FIKK to facilitate learning labs," he explained.
Meanwhile, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Research and Technology, Suharti, appreciated the construction of the new buildings. These buildings are a symbol of the Chancellor's persistence as a leader at UNESA, because the construction of the buildings was completed faster than the deadline set.[]
