Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—Hundreds of visitors from school, university students and the general public thronged the third day of the international design exhibition, Sinesthesia 7, at Balai Pemuda, Surabaya on Sunday, November 24 2024. Total visits since the first day of the exhibition reached 1,400 people.
Those who came from various regions seemed enthusiastic about seeing the various works of Visual Communication Design (DKV) students at Surabaya State University (UNESA), and the works of young international designers; Taiwan, Saudi Arabia, Egypt, and the United States.The exhibition of the DKV Undergraduate Study Program at the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) received appreciation from UNESA Chancellor Nurhasan who was present with his wife, Endah Purnomowati Nurhasan. Both of them were accompanied by the Dean of FBS, Syafi'ul Anam, and the Coordinator of the DKV Undergraduate Study Program, Marsudi, as well as a number of DKV lecturers.
"I really appreciate the work of DKV friends. The work is extraordinary, and cool. Moreover "This involves works from abroad. This exhibition and work is a manifestation of the competence of UNESA DKV students and the community," said Cak Hasan, greeted by applause from the committee and participants.
During his visit, Cak Hasan explored all the design works of art and exhibition booths. It also provides appreciation and motivation so that young DKV UNESA designers or artists will continue to be enthusiastic in producing innovative works.
Cak Hasan wants the 8th Synesthesia to be held in a bigger and more representative place, so that it can reach a wider audience. That way, the public can become more familiar with the quality of DVK UNESA students' design artwork.
"Please, friends, plan the activities, we will support the budget," said the chancellor, who is a professor of sports science.
On that occasion, Cak Hasan also gave a challenge to DKV students to make a story in the form of a short film or documentary about the history of the development or transformation of IKIP Surabaya into UNESA PTN-BH.
"Prepare well "Okay, how will it be packaged? Then submit the budget, we will prepare it. Thank you friends for creating this extraordinary activity. "The main thing is that UNESA students have to be creative, tough and adaptive," said Cak Hasan

The exhibition will take place from 22 November 2024 with the theme “Boomerang: Find Your Why, Make Your Way!” This also received praise from visitors. Cantika from Tambaksari Surabaya, who was present with her two friends, expressed her admiration to see the work displayed.
"I originally came to spend the afternoon at the Youth Hall, but when it got here it was busy, but it turned out there was an exhibition. Coincidentally, I also like seeing design exhibitions, so I came here. "The work is unique, cool, and there were some funny ones too," said the 19 year old woman.
The same thing was conveyed by Shintya, a visitor from Wonokromo. According to him, this international exhibition can increase insight regarding developments in the world of art and design. “I think this is great.
