
UNESA Deputy Chancellor I gave direction and reinforcement at the release of the UNESA contingent for Pimnas 2024.
Unesa.ac.id. SURABAYA—A total of eight (8) Surabaya State University (UNESA) teams qualified for the 37th National Student Science Week (Pimnas). They were released by the leadership to compete in this prestigious event in the Rectorate Lobby, Campus 2 Lidah Wetan, Surabaya on Monday, October 14 2024.
Deputy Chancellor 1 for Academic, Student and Alumni Affairs, Madlazim, in his speech said that Preparations and provisions have been made so that the participants are more mature in undergoing the competition which this year will take place at Airlangga University (Unair).
The progress of the training and provision of the UNESA contingent this year is more mature. They are trained and coached by each supervisor and presenter in the form of a camp. In fact, they received provisions from previous generations, and were reviewed by a number of experts.
“This year's preparations are felt to have been much better, learning from last year's evaluation review. "So the hope is that there will be a contingent from UNESA who will successfully realize the target of winning 1st, 2nd or 3rd place," he said.
The professor at the Faculty of Mathematics and Natural Sciences (FMIPA) advised the contingents to always maintain enthusiasm. , self-confidence, maintaining unity, collaboration, and the reputation or good name of the alma mater during the quarantine period. "Best wishes to the UNESA contingent, and hopefully the results will be proud," he said.
Muhamad Sholeh, Director of Student and Alumni Affairs (Dirmawal) revealed that the 'Home of the Champions' campus team which passes Pimnas from year to year continues to experience improvement. Last year there were 2 teams, this year there are 8 teams that qualified.

These eight teams have specifications and their respective superior innovations. First, the Harchilwell Team, put forward the media for applying logotherapy to the mental health of children with cancer at YPKAI Surabaya. Second, the Prizm Smart Land Fill Team, proposing AI-Based Landfill Innovation and Waste Energy Plants for Sustainable Cities.
Third, the Nata Team, which proposed the effect of giving molasses and bean sprouts boiled water on the quality of nata from watermelon rind waste. Fourth, the Carpalizer Team is presenting an EMG-based smart glove innovation integrated with the internet of things to detect carpal tunnel syndrome in e-sports athletes. >
Fifth, the Orbicle Team presented an AI-based smoke extractor ball innovation with a high-efficiency particulate filter to reduce forest and land fire pollution. Sixth, the Metasekerta Team, is a game innovation with the theme of wayang wong art to optimize culture-based learning in schools.
Seventh, the Wandersea Team, proposes a way to strengthen the social emotional competence of children who bully based on 2C-Learning to realize inclusive environment. Eighth, the Ecobites Team which focuses on environmentally friendly tableware innovation to reduce plastic waste.
"By looking at aspects of innovation and preparedness so far, it is hoped that the UNESA contingent can achieve good scores and win the 2024 Pimnas," he hoped. lecturer at the Faculty of Education (FIP).

Aisyah Al Khumaira, Team Leader Ecobites explained that the superior product that the team will present at Pimnas is an innovative food equipment product that can also be eaten. "We made this product from banana stem flour and tofu dregs flour which is widely available in the Sidoarjo area," said Aisyah.
She added that the innovation they produced was intended to utilize tofu dregs so that they have marketability. As is known, tofu dregs contain a lot of protein and carbohydrates.
On the other hand, using cutlery that can be eaten and recycled can minimize the use of plastic which has the potential to damage the environment. "Starting from that anxiety, we made edible spoons. "Because similar products are often found, it was innovated using banana stem flour and tofu dregs as raw materials," he explained.
Ecobites has been certified halal and passed a number of tests, namely microbial tests, laboratory tests and has obtained 11 IPRs. This product is more affordable, and is 100 percent natural based with the main raw materials being banana stems and tofu dregs.
Apart from that, it has a branding strategy for three-language quote cards (German, English and Indonesian), and has been working the same as the Si Unyil Trans 7 Laptop for shooting and publication.
"Our big hope is of course to be able to come home with a gold or silver medal to make the name of UNESA, FBS, their respective departments and study programs, and the alma mater Rumah Para campus Champion," he hoped.[]
