Unesa.ac.id.,SURABAYA— The Directorate of Prevention and Management of Strategic Issues together with the Directorate of Dormitory at Surabaya State University (UNESA) held a Deep Talk with the theme "Establishing Healthy Relationships" in the Dormitory Lobby of Building A, Campus 2 Lidah Wetan, Surabaya on Thursday, March 7 2024.
< p>This activity, which was attended by all UNESA dormitory residents and the academic community, contained discussions of important issues related to mental health and healthy relationships. The aim is to increase awareness of the importance of maintaining mental health, reducing stress and unwanted things such as sexual violence and toxic relationships.Head of Dormitory Development, Marketing and Monitoring, Dr. Prima Vidya Asteria, S.Pd., M.Pd., conveyed the importance of maintaining mental health in living life on campus. He conveyed the importance of having healthy relationships in preventing sexual violence and related problems.
The first material was delivered by Iman Pasu Marganda Hadiarto Purba, S.H., M.H, which is the UNESA PPIS task force team. He discussed in depth the importance of establishing healthy relationships in everyday life, as well as its relationship to sensitive issues such as sexual violence.
In his presentation, the lecturer at the Faculty of Social Sciences and Law (FISH) provided an in-depth understanding of The negative impact of sexual violence on a person's mental and emotional health.
He also invited the audience to read and understand carefully Article 5 Paragraph 2 of the Minister of Education and Culture Regulation on Sexual Violence, in an effort to better understand rights and prevent its occurrence. sexual violence in the campus environment.
The second material is about mental health. "Every human being must have a burden on their mind, when the burden becomes heavy and cannot be carried by ourselves, then we need to ask our room neighbors for help, in this dormitory there are definitely many who want to help," said Ramadhan Maruta Pradana as the UNESA Mental Health team.< /p>

He said that trauma and excessive stress can significantly disrupt mental health, therefore it needs to be handled quickly and appropriately, for example by doing hobbies, relaxing , and love yourself more.
“When you do something you like, of course it has a positive impact on your mental health. Apart from that, relaxation can also be done by sitting relaxed, breathing slowly, while calming your mind. "We also need to appreciate ourselves by saying thank you to ourselves for the struggles we have gone through," he explained.
Apart from appreciating ourselves, he continued, mental health can be maintained by loving ourselves. "The more we love ourselves, the more aware we are of our own mental health," he continued.
At the end of his presentation, Maruta advised him to master his thoughts. Don't let your thoughts control you, if you have the urge to hurt yourself, it's better to divert it with activities such as scribbling on paper, tearing up paper, or other positive activities.[]
