Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA -- In the closing event of the Darmasiswa and Partnership for Developing Countries (KNB) Scholarship program, BIPA UNESA held closing ceremony on Friday, June 7 2024 in the T14 Auditorium building of the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) Campus 2 Lidah Wetan.
With the theme "Actualizing Indonesian Culture and Language Towards a Global BIPA," the activity was enlivened by performances from Indonesian Language for Foreign Speakers (BIPA) students, who come from the Darmasiswa and KNB Scholarship programs.
The performances include the Pasambahan Minang dance, playing a musical video, and singing the song "Indonesia Pusaka" sung by Won Daeun. The BIPA student from South Korea also showed off her skills by performing an additional song entitled "Our Dream" by Koyote, a legendary band from South Korea.
Deputy Dean for Planning, Finance, Resources, General, Work Same, and FBS Technology, Communication and Information, Dr. Heny Subandiyah, M.Hum., was also present at this activity. For him, BIPA students are a very important network in spreading learning about Indonesian culture and language in their country.
Wulan Patria Saroinsong, S.Psi., M.Pd., Ph.D., Head of Global Partnership Division OIA UNESA, which accompanied this activity, also said that BIPA students were able to complete the lecture process well from start to finish. He considered the BIPA program to be a positive step from UNESA to introduce the Indonesian language to the eyes of the world.

Interim Chairman BIPA UNESA, Dr. Octo Dendy Andriyanto, S.Pd., M.Pd., who was present at the activity, explained the achievements of the Darmasiswa and KNB Scholarship BIPA UNESA programs in the full year.
Throughout 2023-2024, various activities have been carried out by BIPA students, such as city tours in historical tourist destinations in Surabaya. They also participated in a news reading competition at the State Islamic University of Sunan Ampel Surabaya (UINSA), there were also those who took part in a poetry reading and singing event at the Islamic University of Malang (UNISMA).
They took part in the ludruk art performance which was organized by the Javanese Language and Literature Education Undergraduate Study Program, FBS at the Youth Arena, Campus 2 Lidah Wetan, on Tuesday, April 30 2024. Apart from that, BIPA students are also active in the teaching program at the UNESA Labschool.
This activity closed with the presentation of certificates to KNB program students consisting of Stephanie Yakumbu (Australia), Saeed Ahmad Saeed Al Asrani (Yemen), Ali Abakar Ben Abakar (Chad), Yusra Ali Idriss (Sudan), Monireh (Iran), and Momo Shirai (Japan).Then, for the Darmasiswa program there are Liu Maosheng and Xu Yuanyuan from China. There are also Joo Miseo, Lee Jae Hyeon, Jaeben Lee, Song Jinah, and Won Daeun from South Korea. Then there is Rasolofonimaro Ansta Notiavina from Madagascar, and from Australia there is Elva Farrelia. (*)
