Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA—The declaration of anti-drugs, anti-bullying, anti-sexual violence and anti-intolerance was simultaneously uttered by students and academics of Surabaya State University (UNESA) in the 2023 New Student Campus Life Introduction (PKKMB) ceremony which took place in the Field Rector, Lidah Wetan Campus, Surabaya on Monday, 21 August 2023.
The declaration which involved around 23 thousand academics is a form of the institution's commitment not to give the slightest space for any form of action that damages generations, damages the academic environment and divides the nation.
UNESA Chancellor Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., and the Head of the BNNP East Java, Brigadier General Pol. Mohamad Aris Purnomo led the declaration which was joined simultaneously by UNESA's academic community including freshmen who attended offline and online or made a declaration via video.
"We reject and declared war on all forms of drug abuse and illicit trafficking. We support BNN's efforts towards a drug-free Indonesia. Our commitment is that UNESA will continue to be a shining campus (drug-free; ed)," said the Chancellor of UNESA after the event.

Continued by Cak Hasan, the video declaration will later become a media for educating the academic community and the public through social media. His party also together with the BNNP East Java did not stop there. They are committed to continuing to carry out ongoing collaborations such as conducting drug education or prevention both on campus and in the community.
"Moreover, our collaboration has been established for a long time in efforts to prevent drugs and other activities," said Cak Hasan.
Head of BNNP East Java Brigadier General Pol. Mohamad Aris Purnomo appreciated UNESA's efforts in making this declaration. According to him, this is an important part of growing pride in the alma mater and awareness to take part in anti-drug education efforts in the campus environment. special attention, that's why we are intensifying prevention and education measures in the digital realm by collaborating with many parties including educational institutions such as UNESA," explained the one-star general. and outreach including conducting continuous urine tests on all UNESA academics, from the chancellor, officials, lecturers, students to students. With this declaration, UNESA recorded a record at the Indonesian World Record Museum (MURI) as the campus initiator and organizer of the declaration of anti-drugs, anti-bullying, anti-sexual violence and anti- -the most intolerance by students and academics.
Representative of MURI, Sri Widayati revealed that this record was the eighth time recorded by UNESA. Previously, many records were achieved regarding cooperation with educational foundations to flashmobs for the most remo dances.
“Today we witnessed a spectacular activity in the form of a declaration which involved many new students with the largest number. We recorded this activity at MURI as the 11,145th record," Sri Widayati said in an interview session after the activity.
For information, PKKMB with the theme “Cultivated Gen-Z for Advanced Indonesia” is an opening for an introduction to campus life as a whole at the university level. The ceremony is packaged in a hybrid way, aka new students who attend offline and some are online. Next, PKKMB activities will continue at the respective faculty level involving all new students until August 25 2023. Furthermore, new students will begin to be active in lecture activities.
2023 PKKMB activities are held in the fields of Education, Student Affairs, and UNESA Alumni through the Directorate of Student Affairs and Alumni. Present all levels of rectorate leadership including MWA and SAU, directors, heads of institutions, institutional secretaries, deans, deputy deans, coordinators of study programs, lecturers and UNESA staff members.
