Unesa. AC ID. SURABAYA—As Chair of the Indonesian Chancellors Forum (FRI), Chancellor of Surabaya State University (UNESA) Prof. Dr. Nurhasan, M.Kes., inaugurated the 2024-2025 FRI management at the Senate Hall, Gadjah Mada University (UGM), on Saturday, June 1 2024.
Apart from the inauguration, the 2024-2025 FRI management also directly confirmed by the Director General of Higher Education, Research and Technology, Prof. Dr. rer. Nat. Abdul Haris, M.Sc.
The Director General of Diktiristek, Abdul Haris, hopes that the new FRI management this period will carry out many activities and breakthroughs as an effort to enrich productive forums and equally encourage improvements in the quality and quality of higher education in Indonesia .
"With this inauguration, I hope that all PTN and PTS higher education leaders can consolidate in increasing access to higher education and also equalize quality and strengthen the relevance of higher education," he said.
Current higher education, he continued, is faced with three big challenges, namely access to higher education in Indonesia which is still at 37 percent, as well as the issue of unequal quality between universities.
"I think this is serious and becoming "It is the government's job to continue to reduce or narrow this gap and what is more important is that we predict the demographic bonus," he said.
Meanwhile, Indonesia in the next 100 years will be faced with the challenge of educated unemployment. Of course, all parties do not want the problem of higher education to create graduates who perhaps have no communication with the business world and the industrial world.
"I think the Indonesian Chancellors Forum must be able to prioritize its work program towards these three things, at least One of the relevance that we must build together is through maximizing the MBKM program," he said.
Meanwhile, FRI Chairman Nurhasan said that the challenges of higher education are increasingly complex. Therefore, strong commitment and synergy between universities, the government and stakeholders is needed.
The Chancellor of UNESA, who is familiarly called Cak Hasan, hopes that FRI can produce strategic recommendations for the future Indonesian government, especially in the future development of higher education.
Apart from that, preparing superior human resources to respond to the demographic bonus they have Indonesia for Indonesia in 2045.
"FRI is a communication institution where participants can exchange ideas, ideas and strategies between higher education leaders throughout Indonesia who have a strategic role in providing solutions and suggestions to the government regarding various problems nation," he said.
He said that FRI is expected to be able to become a mediator and facilitator for all universities to be able to progress together, both private and state, so that they can progress together, not individually.
"We hope that FRI's programs in the future will be more effective, not just standards so that the existence of FRI will be increasingly taken into account by various parties," stressed the professor of Sports Science.
