Unesa.ac.id., SURABAYA--Primary School Teacher Education Department (PGSD), Faculty of Education (FIP) Surabaya State University (UNESA) held a Literacy Talkshow with the theme 'Motivation for Creative Writing and Fiction: Developing Literary Imagination' in Building 05 of the Faculty of Education (FIP) Lidah Wetan Campus on Saturday, September 9 2023.
FIP Deputy Dean for General Affairs and Finance, Dr. Andi Kristanto, S.Pd., M.Pd., in his speech said that it is important to have motivation in literacy so that writers can immediately work on their projects or works.
Literacy for him is not just reading and writing, but also understanding. part of literacy especially. This is considered very important to have in the digital era where information is easily spread.
Khilma Anis, author of the best-selling novel Hati Suhita, who was a resource person at the literacy event, shared her experience of how she used to be just an ordinary student at Pondok. Pesantren Tambakberas Jombang has now emerged as a famous novel writer.
Even his novel has been translated into a film produced by Starvision Plus with the same title in May 2023. The story begins when he gets an offer from someone who is interested in his writing. from an Islamic boarding school magazine to write a novel in a pen media that focuses on publishing Islamic boarding school novels.
The first challenge was to write a novel with 150 pages. From there his writing continued to develop and began to be known and even sought after among writers.
His famous novel, Hati Suhita, was able to go on stage due to an incident claiming copyright of a work by someone else, many people admitted that the novel was not his work. Khilma Anis. "My father's advice was basically whatever good things come to me, don't say no. Just say yes first, "The case was postponed later," he said, motivating the students present.
UNESA Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) lecturer and founder of the Literacy Virus House, Dr. Much. Khoiri, M.Sc., who accompanied the famous novelist, also said that his main motivation for writing began in 2010 when he planned a writing training event which was attended by participants from junior high school students.

There is one student who very enthusiastic about learning to write and reading the book. "I immediately bowed down in gratitude and said to myself that I would make a book as soon as possible, because at that time I didn't have any books," said the lecturer in English Language and Literature Education.
In 2011 his book was published for the first time this time with the title 'Ndoro I Want to Talk'. He continues his writing routine every year, he publishes approximately three to four books a year. To date, he has published 74 fiction and non-fiction books.
