UNESA and UNUD leaders and their staff discuss the governance of the PTN-BH institution
Unesa.ac.id, SURABAYA—Visit Surabaya State University (UNESA), Udayana University (Unud) to carry out benchmarking related to campus governance on Thursday, June 13 2024 at the Rectorate Building, Lidah Wetan Campus.
This visit discussed various aspects of academic governance and management of both universities, with the aim of learning from each other and improving operational efficiency and effectiveness.
Chairman of the UNESA Board of Trustees (MWA), Prof. Dr. Haris Supratno, who led the activity, delivered several discussions such as the governance of higher education organizational structures, leadership authority, implementation of academic regulations, and strategies for becoming an ideal PTNBH.
He also emphasized the importance of preparing draft regulations, organization and governance (OTK), as well as a mature Annual Work Plan and Budget (RKAT).
Furthermore, the man who is also a lecturer at the Faculty of Languages and Arts (FBS) stated that in formulating non-academic policies , MWA gives the authority to the chancellor to organize a competent and loyal team, with general criteria such as being professional, enterprising, and meeting functional position requirements.
The appointment of vice-chancellors and deans also has a standard format, namely that they must have at least a doctoral degree. However, other factors such as competency, rank and age are also important considerations for promotion.
Apart from that, this visit also discussed the mechanism for appointing officials at the director level and below, which can be filled by lecturers and staff. education (tendik). The administrative selection process, psychological tests and interviews are used for staff promotion, with equal social security between civil servants and non-PNS.
UNESA Director of Law, Management and Bureaucratic Reform, Dr. Sulaksono, S.H., M.H., who was also present at the forum, also added regarding risk mitigation and evaluation of official performance, as well as the importance of a strong legal basis in every policy.
So that every position needs to be provided with a structure first, or " his house." Filling this position depends on the Chancellor's policy, according to the needs and management strategy of the university.[]
